We met up with one of our faves on Thursday!

The gorgeous and talented Leona Lewis is in Los Angeles.

The X Factor champ is performing at music mogul Clive Davis' annual pre-Grammy party this weekend.

We met up with the Bleeding Love singer at her rehearsal and caught up a bit. Leona told us to expect something juicy at the Brit Awards, for which she received four nominations. We will be there in person later this month, and we can't wait.

But until then…..

Operation Conquer America has begun!

Whitney Houston's song "So Emotional" was a rock song apparently composed by a rocker especially for Whitney. Whitney was so universal and versatile because she loved every genre of music. Leona will never be in Whitney's league. Anyone who says so is lying.

She's not ugly but she is exteremly over-rated. She's just an average singer but of course she is better than a lot of the top female stars of today like Jlo, Ciara and Rihanna. However Mariah and Whitney were much much better than her in their prime and Mariah is still better than her now. Leona's songs are less vocally challenging than Mariah's so Mariah would find Leona's songs easy to sing even in her current vocal state. However I dont wanna rain on her parade so good luck to her.

Leona herself has never claimed to be better, worse, similar or the same as anyone else,

I've never got these people that go on about Leona's looks or her personality or lack of it. To me there is nothing wrong with her personality. But even so what does her personality have to do with her ability to make music. Leona is not original and doesnt have the best voice, but there are plenty of singers who are worse than her and some very succesful singers who cant actually sing so there is room in the business for her. I just wish she would try something different, or rather the people behind her would. I guess at some point she will get more of an imput in her career becuase she can write her own material whether its good or not is another question but I would like to hear it. She has been moderatley succesful so far for some reason or another but in todays industry success doesnt always equal quality. I think she will do well in America regardless though.

Cant believe that the US fall for this moneymarketing exercise. Simon and Clive get together - tell you how fantastic she is and like sheep everyone bleats "Leona is fantastic" like a mantra..Then they sit back and count the money.
