Pete Doherty made a 'measly' $60,000 last year.
His drug bill is probably at least double that!
Poor Petey must have gotten screwed somewhere along the way because he really should have made more than $60k.
The last Babyshambles hit the UK charts at #5. He scored modeling gigs for Dior and Goi Goi.
What gives?
Well, it looks like Doherty failed to tap into a big money maker for musicians - live shows.
Doperty's band, the Babyshambles, hardly made a penny after poor ticket sales, lukewarm reviews and expensive crew costs last year.
Plus, there were all the shows Petey missed last year due to court appearances and rehab.
No wonder he's playing birthday parties for $200 an appearance!

Few artists of any stripe are able to live off of their work. I don't feel sorry for him - I mean, he's not waiting tables, flipping burgers, or more nobly teaching in an american public school and spending his spare change buying books for his students. A 1st year teacher in Oakland makes 37,000. PErez has NO perspective.

Creation is about more than $ and celebrity. It is about having a compulsion to make something new and interesting. And continuing to do it even beyond you're own awareness that you have much better chance of making a decent $$$ by becoming a company man and punching the clock everyday.
The US so often fails to realise true british talent. Babyshambles are huge in the UK and the gigs constantly sell out! Not only are the songs good but the lyrics are meaningful. They are so popular especially with the whole indie thing thats going on at the mo and thanks to pete gio goi sales have rocketed. Note - gio goi not goi goi. Get ur facts straight.
That's more money than some people will ever see in their entire lives! he may have had a rough year but he can still turn his life around. There's people out there who will never have that opportunity. Babyshambles is amazing. I don't live in the UK but even i know that they are a big deal.
