Inside The Mind Of An "Artist"
Ticket sales for Avril Lavigne's upcoming tour are sluggish, to put it mildly. So, the singer and "songwriter" held a press conference to try and drum up interest in her new outing.
Here are some of the HIGHlights:
"My inspiration for this record, a lot of it came from the live show and knowing what kind of songs I wanted to play live. I wanted to play fast, fun songs. I love playing songs like Sk8er Boi onstage because the crowd just reacts, and I love it when everyone is freaking out and jumping.
My last record, Under My Skin, was pretty mid-tempo and darker, so every song was like bringing down the audience. So I was just wanted to rock, which is why I made a very up-tempo record.
The show is going to be very upbeat and the production will be bigger in the sense of dancers during a couple of songs, LED screens, a pink-sparkled drum kit and flags. Over time, I've sort of learned how I need to be on stage, and I'm more confident. It's just more dynamic, brighter and more colorful. I'm excited about it because I've been working on the show for a very long time now. And it's just going to be really fun to finally go play."

because that's how she became the best selling artist (if its even true)
she got signed and the people at her label did everything for her.
they signed her as their fresh new blank puppet to the label first of all.
almost dropped her as they were just getting started because she was no good, then got some professional songwriters to write a couple of hit songs, found a band for her, made the music for her, recorded the album, changed her voice unbelievably in the studio because she couldn't sing a note, put her name on the credits as songwriter even though she didnt write the songs at all,
organised extreme promotion, gave her a makeover, told her how to act, told her how to dress, gave her a guitar, showed her how to pretend to play it, gave her 8 tons of eyeliner, hair straighteners, gave her clothes, 500 ties, gave her a gimmick or 40 BUT most importantly told the world she was the anti-britney ETC when there was really only britney types around at the time….and what do you know, Avril ….managed to get famous and have hit records. (with the under 15s mind you, something that cartoons have been able to do)
