Madonna's raising money for Malawi, but she's got bigger things to worry about.
The pop star's adoption of little David Banda is still not finalized.
The Malawian government has been accused of turning a blind eye to the law. It is technically 'illegal' for non-residents to adopt in Malawi.
Her Madgesty is due to appear before a Malawi court in April for a final hearing on little David's adoption.
In her defense, a Malawian government official has spoken out in support of Madonna's adoption of baby Banda.
A Malawian minister told Reuters, "It will be wrong for Malawi to even dare deny this wonderful woman all the rights to be a parent of David and many more Malawian children."
How much did she pay him to say that????

Instead of helping one, why not put all that time and money into helping many hundreds/thousands more? It seems unfair she's picked one to live in luxury.

She's been raising him for a year now, to send him back from a stable family would just reck him. And i think that its great she picked one to help all she can and love and take care of. I think people she stop being horrible about this situation and just back her up for doing something so loving.

Yeah maybe the adoption thing wasn't quite ligit when all the adopting David thing happened. But officialls in Malawi where just making it up has they went along, so just to blame Madonna FOR WANTING TO HELP A KID THAT WAS PROBABLY GOING TO DIE (SHE SHOULD HAVE JUST LEFT HIM THERE TO DIE HUGH). It amazes me how quickly people are to judge when they haven't even been to Malawi and saw all these poor kids suffering. What I said, by using the word "more", implies I already knew she had helped people there. It's still crazy that she can take one and give it everything, when the money would be better spent helping more THAN SHE ALREADY IS.

Madonna is a wonderful humanitarian who saw a child she wanted to help, She offered to give the parent of this child fianicial support but he delicined and she was then in a panic because of David's condition. She was then able to take care of him better in London because theres better resources for medical treatment. She has done a 360 turn in her life and she really is trying to walk the walk and I give her major kudos for that and so should you.

Madonna is one of the worst performers I have ever seen. She's a has-been with absolutely NO TALENT. Her music is terribly boring along with her videos and concerts. She has the same talent as most of the contestants on American Idol. I am patiently waiting for the day when she will just go away.

david's father rode his bike more than 10 miles each weekend to visit a son he could not afford to feed. if madonna were truly a humanitarian, he would have helped david's father feed him instead of taking him away.

Most children adopted in America have birth parents who are alive but either just cannot afford to raise their child, are mentally ill, in jail, on drugs or are too ashamed to raise the child out of wedlock. Also if David's mother died of AIDS then its a wonder that his father does not have it as well.

Zahara's birth mother was raped during conception and she could not afford to feed the baby, so the grandmother put z in an orphanage. The only thing that kept the birth mother from raising the baby was poverty. How heartbreaking is that? Madonna and AJ are both equally pretentious, but Madonna does not annoy me as much. There is something about AJ that is very unsettling.

I just returned from Malawi, Africa. I volunteered at a clinic where my brother works. Malawi is one of the poorest countries in the entire world. HIV infected is 10% of the population. Madonna has made people become aware of this country. She has brought much aid to the country. Do not judge what you do not know. Malawians that I spoke with about the adoption are very happy for the child. This is a place where there is often no food and even getting water may be five miles away by foot. They feel David is very blessed. I expected them to be bitter but no, they are glad for him. They don't want the world to forget about Malawi.
I know it seems horrible that she violated the law, but I've traveled to Malawi several times, and the people there (who know about this hoopla) are actually very supportive of the adoption. It's quite normal for a person who becomes invested in a country to be allowed to adopt even though they're not citizens. I know people who have done it in Chile and Italy.

Do realize she just made Malawi World Famous. Shes lifted one kid out of poverty, & he will connect the rest of the world with Malawi in the future. She has big plans for Malawi.
