E! talk show host Chelsey Handler made a big announcement on her show Tuesday night about her friend Jenny McCarthy.

Handler said:

"And by the way, Jim, Jenny wanted me to tell you — she's pregnant."

That's how she wanted the world to find out about the news???

Oh, well. Congrats!

Updated: McCarthy's rep has denied that she is pregnant and is saying that Handler was just joking.

Jenny says she'll never have more kids. Her son has special needs and she devotes all her parenting time to him. I'd be surprised if she has not had permanent measures taken to ensure that.

Isn't she past 35? She's really too old to be having more kids. Everyone knows that once a woman hits 35 her chances of having a Down's Syndrome child increases tremendously. After that age, a pregnancy is considered high risk ( I am a neo-natal intensive care nurse ) and can be dangerous for both mother and child. Besides, after having had a son with Autism, you would think that she'd prefer to concentrate her energy on him instead of trying for another baby. That's what actress Laura San Giancomo ( who was almost 35 when her child was born with Cerebral Palsy ) did. You've gotta give her credit for knowing when to stop. Hopefully, Jenny will just do the Brangelina / Madonna thing and adopt an African orphan.
