Sad news!
Fox has announced that you 24 fans will have to wait ’til January 2009 to get more Jack Bauer.
Fox execs say that a January 2009 start seemed the best way to give viewers what they want — a season that goes from beginning to end without interruption.
We call Fox's explanation bullshit!
Why don't they just show an abbreviated season or keep airing shows into the summer?
Eight episodes of the new season were filmed before the writer's strike. It's not like they have to start from scratch!

Because the whole concept of the show is that it takes place in 24 hours, hence the name. And they did talk about showing the 8 episodes they'd shot but the fans didn't like that, they'd rather wait than have the 8. The show is called 24 not 8. Geez!

The show is called "24" not "8 with a Break in Between" or "It would be 24 but We're Observing Daylight Savings Time" . Better to wait and have a full 24. It will be worth it.
i've been waiting months fir the new season to start, supposedly this year…then the CA fire happened, then the arrest, jail and the strike….FOX is taking advantage of the fans..I doubt I will be interested in this show, having not seen it for such a long time…this is bull shit. i'd watch 24 tis year, spring, summer or falll but to wait until JANUARY IS BULLSHIT!!!!!!!!!!! There are lots of other shows to watch….

Argh. This is the one show I actually watch, and I've already waited a fucking year - and then some. Fuck you, Fox. Way to treat one of your highest rated shows and its fans. Fifty bucks says it just never comes back. Without fail we can see season after season of Flavor of Love, but when its a show that people actually want to see… I blame Rupert Murdoch.
What the hell? Fox promised that the show would be back in 2008 even if it had to wrong long into the summer or they had to double up the shows (2 hours per evening). I don't see how this is the best course of action for the show as they essentially lose a complete season. How about either showing it two hours per night, two hours per week like the crap fest that is American Idol, or better yet showing one season in the fall and a second season starting in January 09.
So pissed. 24 is my favorite show. But I would not want to watch 8 episodes then 6 months later watch the 16. I am glad they are waiting till next year, but I hate waiting for it!!

This is just BULLSHIT!!!!!!!!!! I've been waiting forever for this show and now FOX takes a big dump on all of their fans.
The last season of 24 (season 6) sucked major balls.
It started out great with the detonation of a dirty nuclear bomb in LA…then the story went down hill from there with the Chinese and microchips for a nuclear missile.
If Fox really gave a shit about the fans of the show they would release the 8 episodes now and have the fans decide if it is any good and how the season should procede.Or at the very least air the season in the fall. (Sept. - Dec. )
Instead the executives at the Fox want to use "24" to promote "American Idol".
Hopefully, "the fans" will abandon this show and force them to kill off Jack Bauer.

I imagine part of the reason for the delay is that the girl who plays Chloe is so totally pregnant. They filmed the first eight "hours" of the day and suddenly Chloe is THIS BIG. Right….
Actually, it makes alot of sense. The main writer/producer quit the day after the writer's strike ended, so they need time to hire a new head writer and make what has already been filmed, make sense. Better to wait and make it worthwhile, than rush it and ruin a great TV show.

ONE of the showrunners (Surnow) quit you idiots, the others (Gordon & Cochran) are still with the show so that won't cause a major disruption. Fox would not be able to uphold their ad $ commitments by airing in the summer when fewer people on the whole watch tv. Get a clue as to how the tv business works before showing you ignorance on a gossip blog.
