Yes, Madonna goes hip hop on her new album, due in April.

We're a bit 'anxious' about this latest turn in her musical direction, but we like the three new songs that have leaked thus far. That's a good sign.

American Life and her rapping still haunts us, though.

Rolling Stone magazine has just heard five songs from M's new album.

I’m not looking forward to this album for the first time in my life. I can’t stand Timbaland. He ruined Nelly Furtado’s sound from what she used to be (funky and totally different and talented as hell in “Turn off the LIght” etc.) to her current hits that are terrible (Maneater, Promiscuous). He’s gotton to Madonna now. That’s like Sam Lufti getting attached to Britney. Worse. The title Candy Shop alone makes me really nerveous. Sounds like an annoying dud, but I’m sure US radio will spin it all day long. And you guys, I AM A HUGE MADONNA FAN!! In the end, I will buy the album because my obsession with madonna goes way beyond her music but I do think this is unfortunate. She seems desperate. This is not the first time she has ventured somewhat toward the urban hip-hop direction. "Like a Prayer" album definitely had heavy R&B influence, and Bedtime Stories most certainly did. Somebody said it "didn't sell"…UM, if memory serves Like a Prayer was her most critically lauded album (along with "Ray of Light") and Bedtime Stories got quite favorable reviews AND she had a MONSTROUS # 1 HIT, "Take a Bow". I love "Secret" and the best-kept secret on that album is "I'd Rather be Your Lover" featuring M'shell Ndgeocello. That is a certifiably good hip-hop/r&b song by Madonna. She's a genius….not the best singer but she's worth $325 Million, she may be "old" but we're still talking about her and she's still takin it to the bank. Miley Cyrus Insists Alcohol Is 'Way More Dangerous' Than Weed! Shares Her New Priorities As An Adult & Artist!

Perhaps Amanda Bynes would have been better off giving Miley Cyrus her bong!

The We Can’t Stop singer interviewed with Rolling Stone magazine for their July 4th issue, and revealed her fairly liberal thoughts on drugs and alcohol.

Given her stoner reputation, we’re not totally surprised. Though, when asked to clarify her penchant for weed, she said:

"You can't ask someone that and expect them to say yes... I did a song with Snoop Dogg called 'Ashtrays and Heartbreaks,' so people can put it together for themselves."

That sounds fairly straightforward to us. Mileybird then went ahead to state that she thinks there are things much, much worse than a little bit of the green stuff:

"I think alcohol is way more dangerous than marijuana -- people can be mad at me for saying that, but I don't care... I've seen a lot of people spiral down with alcohol, but I've never seen that happen with weed."

She added:

"As long as it isn't illegal, there are far more dangerous things. And it's legal in the state of California. So I'm happy to live in California, a place where you can be whoever you want to be."

Well, Miley, marijuana isn’t exactly legal in California unless you have a prescription, so we’re not entirely sure what you mean. But, okay...

As for her transition from Disney teen idol to mature pop star, she said:
