Doing It For Heath

Filed under: Film Flickers > Heath Ledger

wenn1661638__opt.jpg

Director Terry Gilliam has been faced with the difficult situation of finishing his film, The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus, which will be Heath Ledger's last movie, without him.

And, now, it seems that a solution has been reached that will allow the pic to be completed without its lead star.

Ledger's character steps through a mirror three different times and into different worlds. So three different actors will now inhabit his character's body in those segments of the film.

Those thesps are: Johnny Depp, Jude Law and Colin Farrell.

We think Heath would approve!

I really don't think Sluttyenna's ex (and star of 'Alfie') has any business near anything of Heath's, but fine. Or CF, star of such gems as, oh, I don't know, the CF sex tape. Blecch.

    JD should do all three.

Re: JAKE – Jake at #32, Shame on you for injecting politics here. But…What concerns me about Obama is Michelle. Do I want her representing the USA schmoozing with Queen Elizabeth, the queen of the Netherlands, the monarchs of Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Spain…??? The Presidents, Premiers, Prime Ministers of Europe, Asia, & Africa…??? And what happens if/when she starts a crazy redecorating fit in the White House. OH lawzy, lawzy, Miss Scarlett!!! Congress better pass a "No Redecorating Bill" until we get Barack & Michelle OUT of the White House.

  61. Love Heath! says – reply to this

    61

I didn't realize how much hair he lost and before age 30. Glad terry is continuing with the movie!

i am sooooooooooo sick of this heath ledger crap! he is NOT the 2nd coming. he was a hollywood drug addict. he dug his grave and now he has to lay in it. gosh! get over it! he's DEAD…DEAD…DEAD!!!!

  76. Crystal says – reply to this

    76

That's good. Johnny is an amazing actor, as well was Heath. I think Jude does a decent job as well. I'm not exactly a fan of Colin Farrell, but I'm sure the movie will be great. And I'm sure Heath would have wanted the show to go on.

  77. Hope says – reply to this

  79. Doesn't matter says – reply to this

    79

A nice story about Heath doesn't change what I think about you anymore, Perez. That Barack-smearing is just too ridiculous. :-( Heath wouldn't approve of it, that's for sure.

  80. Andrea says – reply to this

    80

This is so touching and a fantastic solution. I'm actually a bit intrigued to see the film now!

  81. Jessi says – reply to this

    81

Sounds brilliant. I'm sure Depp, Farrell, and Law will do him justice.
    Gilliam is a genius, anyway.

  82. pinkmoon says – reply to this

    82

Johnny Depp and Colin Farrell are perfect and I can also see Orlando Bloom or Daniel Day Lewis but this works too, I am just thrilled it's getting finished with Heath's part intact. Should be remarkable anyway Heath's in it.

  83. Andrew says – reply to this

    83

Aw I think he would approve as well, great group of actors

  84. I heart heath says – reply to this

    84

The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus is an unfinished American fantasy-adventure film directed by Terry Gilliam and written by Gilliam and screenwriter Charles McKeown, whose production was in progress when it had to be suspended due to the death of one of its principal stars, Heath Ledger, on January 22, 2008. Prior to the suspension of production, Christopher Plummer and Tom Waits were co-starring with Ledger in a story about the leader of a traveling theater troupe who, through a deal with the Devil, takes audience members through a magical mirror to explore their imaginations. Production began on the film in December 2007, but Heath Ledger's unexpected death in January 2008 led Gilliam to suspend production on the film while he determined if and how he might "salvage" the film.[1]

In February 2008 actors Johnny Depp, Jude Law, and Colin Farrell reportedly signed on to take over Ledger's role, becoming multiple incarnations of his character transformed in the "magical" world of the film.[2]

The projected release date for this film is 2009.

Who is this guy, Anna Nicole Smith? Why is he more popular dead than alive? Uh, he's dead folks. Move along. You weren't close personal friends with him and he wouldn't give 2 shits about you if you died from a drug overdose so forget about him already. I haven't seen one movie he was in and I imagine 95% of the population haven't either. Why do you want to idolize drugged up losers?
