No Settlement Reached

Stale mate!

Heather Mills and Paul McCartney ended their weeklong divorce hearing on Monday.

The pair were unable to reach an agreement in their bitter divorce battle.

What does that mean????

A judge will now spend several weeks working out the terms and he will decide how much Heather gets and all details of their divorce settlement.

Idiots, they should have reached a deal amongst themselves! Now someone else will decide for them, and they can both get shafted.

Allowing the judge to decide how much Heather should get is a sound tactical move by Sir Paul McCartney and his legal team. There are three considerations here:

First, people erroneously think a woman is automatically entitled to half the household income over the duration of the marriage upon divorce. That is not the case.

The second thing is household costs for the period have to be offset against that income. In addition, the man bought her two houses and gave her an interim payment in excess of £4m when they split. That has to be taken into account somewhere in the arithmetic.

Finally, Sir Paul and his legal team now know what ammunition Heather has to throw at them in a book. She revealed nothing in court that hasn't already been revealed publicly. As far as he is concerned, she has done her worst. If a gagging order is put in place, great. If not, it doesn't matter. He has nothing to lose and he will sue the arse off her if she says anything that isn't true.

He wins all around, methinks, no matter what the judge awards.
