Obama Plagiarizes Speech
Filed under: Barack ObamaBarack Obama has been criticized for plagiarizing a speech during a campaign stop this past weekend and not being upfront about it.
The similarities between the Democratic presidential hopeful and a speech made by by Deval Patrick, the current Democratic governor of Massachusetts, back in October 2006 are striking.
Barack blatantly copied several lines and linguistic speech patterns from Deval's "Just Words" speech for Obama's own "Words Matter" speech in Wisconsin.

That's the whole problem I have with Obama - nothing he says or does is original. From what I have seen, he takes from all of the other candidates, rehashes it a little, and then spits it out as his own, "original" stance on whatever issue. And I REALLY don't have confidence in him being able to deal with either foreign policy or the economy. If he ends up the Democratic candidate, I just might do what I swore NEVER to do, and vote Republican!

If Governor Patrick endorses a candidate and shares strategic advice with the candidate, including a good line from an old speech, what the hell is the controversy?
This site should stick to crotch shots of celebrities and cheerleading the premature death of pop stars and should leave the actual political debates to more competent organizations who know what they are doing.

But then you go and become one of the Clintons' muck-rakers, spreading rumours and gossip about Obama as though he were just another insignificant celebrity. I don't care how much you love Hillary, or how much you hate Obama — this contest is a thousand thousand times more significant than your usual celebrity show-downs, and it shows a remarkable lack of insight and intelligence to try to drag it down to the same level. If you want to get involved in serious politics, you should at least make an effort to use serious, legitimate tactics — not just your usual smear and scandal.
