With their reunion tour winding down, Geri Haliwell has posted this poignant entry on the official Spice Girls blog, reminiscing about their epic Madison Square Garden show and being back together with the ladies.
She says:
"Hi,
So we’ve just played Madison Square Garden and it was amazing. We finally did it as a five piece (the girls did it once before after I left) and I feel so delighted… mission almost accomplished. The energy and atmosphere were amazing.
Victoria’s son Cruz was a little star. We all had our children up on stage tonight and Cruz started break dancing! How cool is that? It’s clearly in the family.
So, we have got six shows left to do and it’s rather like a countdown. I feel a mixture of sadness and joy. I know it’s time to come home yet I will miss everyone from the tour.
I love New York so, so much and I have had a blast here. I hit the ground running… enjoying the nightlife, the vintage shopping, the food and the people. I am in love with New York. I feel like I found a part of me that I had kind of forgotten. The Statue Of Liberty is in view as I write this and she certainly has Girl Power. New York has been liberating.
I’ve also been exposed to the world of street-style dance, and it’s so cool to see fresh talent, it’s so raw and real. Being around our tour dancers has been a privilege; they have opened my eyes to the craft of dance.
And so I close on this note… what I have learnt is that I can never say never. If you’d asked me ten years ago if I would have been at Madison Square Garden with the Spice Girls, I would have said no. But look what has happened, and that is my lesson. Job done.

The show was AMAZING in MSG last night! I sat not 10 feet from the stage!! They all had sooo much energy and really seemed to enjoy being there together playing for us! Cruz was too cute. He loved the spot light! Posh even said "He's the nest Justin Timberlake!" It was truly the pinacle of my teen years! I wouldn't have thought they would be so amazing, but the 10 year old girl came out of me and I just enjoyed every part of the show! I'm glad Geri had a blast too! You could feel it in teh room how much energy there was! GIRK POWER!

THE MADISON SQUARE GARDEN SHOW WAS SOLD OUT!!!
*I was there and it was AMAZING… after Friday I will have seen 4 shows on this tour.*
They're obviously not has-beens since they keep selling out shows worldwide.
And for those wondering why they keep posing in bras, it's because they signed a co-promotion deal with Victoria's Secret (and in case you missed their performance at the VS fashion show, it was spectacular).
The Spice Girls are talented, intelligent, and beautiful– more than can be said for so many "musicians"… contrary to popular belief, the Spice Girls write their own songs and do NOT lip-sync. Not to mention that they're also loving parents, published authors, and Guiness Book record-setting artists.
Jeni, you only wish you could look that good in a bra… and they're all in their 30s looking hotter than women in their 20s. Have some respect for them– they are more successful than you will ever be, and they have made such a positive impact on the lives of millions of fans, including myself. I feel sorry for anyone who has missed out on attending this amazing tour… anyone who has seen them live can vouch for the fact that they are incredibly talented and have so many fans who love and adore them.
The Spice Girls deserve your respect and I appreciate Perez Hilton for respecting them and supporting them on this tour.

when the spice girls first came out, i was a huge fan! being in high school, i thought they sent a great message with their "girl power" mantra. i was extremely excited to be at msg last night to finally see them 12 years after my initial excitement. i have to say that they were amazing. i had chills the entire show! not only did they look amazing, but they sounded great too! i am only sad that i can't see them again! btw, the kids were adorable and it was so nice that they got to get up on stage!
