Kate Beckinsale isn't exactly a "serious actress" - but she sure does look pretty in dresses!
The British beauty wasn't invited to the Oscars, however, she did manage to make it to Elton John's soiree.
And Kate's chocolate dress was yummy. One of the best of the evening!

I don't know about the "serious actress" comment Perez. Apart from being in "The Aviator", sha was also in an indy flick called "Laurel Canyon" with Christian Bale. She was excellent in both. Hell….I remember reading an interview with her where even SHE made fun of movies like "Van Helsing".

Why won't they invite Kate Beckinsale to the Oscars, but they ask other lame actors and actresses. I mean Donnie Osmond got an invitation, not to mention Miley Cyrus? I love her. Her fashion sense is wonderful. She wore this billowy white strapless gucci ( i think) gown that reminded me of Audrey Hepburn in "My Fair Lady". The only thing that mars her persona, is that she smokes.

Perez - Kate Beckinsale's movie debut was in Much Ado About Nothing, a film adaptation of the Shakespeare play, directed and starred in by Kenneth Branagh. In my book, that gives her serious actress credibility. But I agree with you, she is smokin' in that dress.
