The very respectable New York Times has written a very lengthy piece on the state of Britney Spears' financial affairs.
Once a top earner, the recovering mother of two is now grossly spending more than she's earning.
The Times paints her fortune as being "at risk."
Poor Brit. She just can't catch a break!
Spears' current financial state can't be solely blamed on too many expenditures, though.

the very respectable nyt? you have said this on a number of occasions. i know that you're not from the city, but if you read the times on a daily basis, you would know that they repetitively print stories without proper evidentiary proof; and that when they find out they are mistaken, fail to report it in their comments: they do this on a weekly basis, not just on national news but metro.

I think her dad intervened in the nick of time. She could have been broke very soon but i think she on the mend and heading for a come back (soonish). If shes sensible with her millions she could just retire and live a very comfortable life, not that i think she should retire. And others paying for her day to day expenses? Probably get paid back in checks-in her drives, we never see her at a bank or atm so I am not surprised about that. Her father is now giving her a $1000 spending limit a day to cut back on spending and having others taking advantage of her. Also, I don't think that Britney knows how much she is worth-property values, missing items.. etc.

I hate to say she had it coming but she had it coming. Smart people should be saving their money and living…well not frugally but within their means. I saw a show on her years ago showing how she lived. She likes to do things like hop on a plane and fly across the country for a cup of coffee from her favorite place. She spends about $15k per DAY which isn't that much for her. This was a few years back, so while what she spends money on may have changed, odds are that the same amount is still being shelled out. But when you're life and career are going downhill and the money isn't rolling in anymore…well she still has millions left. It isn't too late to fix her spendthrift habits and still live in leisure.
