Noticeably absent from the Academy Awards' "In Memoriam" tribute to those that have passed away was Brad Renfro.

When exactly did he die? If it was in February, he wouldn't be included because the cut off of the "year" is January 31st. In which case, he'd be included next year…

It said at the bottom of the screen that they were recognizing those who had died in 2007 up to Jan 31 2008—Renfro died after that. Duh.

Technically, Heath should not have been included in the list until NEXT year because he passed away in 2008. Hopefully they'll pay tribute to Brad next year. Heath was probably included because he was such a high profile actor and was nominated in the past.
