Smarter Than Britney Already!

Filed under: Britney Spears > Jamie Lynn Spears

jamielynn.jpg

On a better note than that of Britney going broke

Her little sis, Jamie Lynn Spears has gotten her high school diploma!

The pregnant sixteen-year-old passed the GED exam last month and apparently scored pretty well on reading comprehension. She is now looking to take the ACT college entrance test.

Once she pops the baby out, let's hope that academia wins out over partying or popping out more babies!

A GED AKA Good Enough Diploma is not a High School Diploma so get that right Perez. Its something that lazy ass people get. Its not the same thing that a person who goes threw 12 yrs of school gest. There are a lot of girls who get pregnant and they still finish high school she could have done the same thing but she took the easy way out.

I was homeschooled through high school and had to get a GED in order to go to college, and it's not exactly difficult. If reading comprehension is the only thing she scored "pretty well on," bitch needs a tutor.

That said, at least she's doing something to improve her life. Hopefully she won't struggle with mental illness like her sister.

ummm, once she pops this baby out, there wont be time for academia or partying, she will be a mom. which is a 24/7 job, one that is really too much for most single 16 year olds. if you think her goal should be academia, it will either have to wait 5 or 6 years, (or more) or, she should seriously think about having a responsible, mature two parent couple adopt the child.

THE GED IS NOT AN EASY TEST, IT IS HARD TO PASS!!!
TEST TAKERS MUST SCORE HIGHER THAN 40 PERCENT OF GRADUATING HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS NATIONWIDE. THERE IS A 70% RATE OF INCOMPLETION ON THE FIRST TRY AT TAKING THE TEST!!!

General Educational Development (or GED) tests are a battery of five tests which, when passed, certify that the taker has American or Canadian high school-level academic skills. To pass the GED Tests and earn a GED credential, test takers must score higher than 40 percent of graduating high school seniors nationwide.
Jurisdictions award a "Certificate of General Educational Development" or similarly titled credential to persons who meet the passing score requirements.
Approximately 95% of colleges will accept GED graduates, though they will typically require them to take the SATs and the ACT. Some admissions boards request extra letters of recommendation in addition to the standard number already required of applicants when reviewing GED applicants.

    A. getting a GED is in no way equal to getting a diploma. while it is commendable that she finish high school, a high school diploma is looked upon much more favorably.

    B. girl needs to grow up. no one over the age of 4 should wear a ROMPER!

  60. honeynut627 says – reply to this

Even though it is only a GED at least it is something. And personally everyone who thinks you can't be a mom and continue your education are ill-informed. I was a teenage mom well over a decade ago. I finished high school and earned a BA as well, while being a mom. If you ask my child I never compromised being a parent, but I learned to balance my time and studies and I continue to do so while balancing parenthood and a job. If you cannot balance your time between more than 1 thing, you need time management classes.

I think its not that bad that she is having a baby because she has a lot of money so its not like shes going to go broke..
and also do we even know for sure that she is pregnant? is there any proof like her baby bump yet? I think its just something that the Spears family came up with to get the attention off of Britney.

Oh Shit, not the "GOOD ENOUGH DEGREE." I don't know much to anything about her, but if she had her own TV show, why couldn't she graduate high school normally. I don't give a fuck what anyone says because getting a GED means next to nothing in the real world. I graduated with my Bachelor's Degree at the age of 21 from a private school and getting your GED does not prepare you for the reality of college academia or reality. But of course she is rich, right? No need to get a real job.

dude, GED and High School Diploma are not the same thing.
In fact, one was created ’cause you couldn't get the other (for various reasons like being too old to actually attend high school, or because you don't want to continue attending regular school, etc).

Not that it really matters anymore for most jobs and/or colleges.
