Ellen is free to support whomever she wants to support just like Oprah has the right to endorse whomever she wishes to endorse. Ellen could have said her piece earlier but she chose to do it now. I'm guessing Hillary (in 07) felt she had the nomination in the bag and didn't need Ellen's endorsement, how things have changed. I see nothing wrong with someone throwing their weight behind a political candidate. The problem arises when you depend upon a television personality (Ellen or Oprah) to determine your views on leaders that can affect your pocket book.

I agree that polititians shouldn't be using celebrity endorsements, but you can't argue with the fact that it works. Unfortunately, people in general have become much like a herd of sheep that could be led in any particular direction without reason. I was disgusted when Oprah promoted Obama. I honestly think that she believes she's god or something.. Stretching her talk show host role a bit far. At this point, Hillary has to get celebrity endorsements to keep up in the race. The sad fact is that people use that as a deciding factor.
Do you know why Oprah is a Obama fan?? Because she would look like more of a lesbain if she supported Hilary, also, she is losing her african american fans base, so helping support Obama helps to quite both of these issues. What is most amazing is that this is the first time that Oprah is turning her back on powerful white women. The worse is that Oprah always supports woman's rights, but at the first chance she gets to back the first woman president she pulls her support in favor to what is good for her image. I wonder if this means that Hillary is sending the message that gays and lesbians are real people, too, who deserve recognition as full-fledged humans, respect as such, and equal as such under the law? I always use a sound stable position on women having control over their own bodies (non-legislating of morality), and on gays & lesbians being treated as 100% equal human beings under the law and in society—as the two litmus tests for a candidate. No candidate is sound and stable yet.

Actually, Ellen hasn't endorsed Hillary. Barack Obama was on the Ellen show a while ago and Ellen seemed to really like him. Also, Perez doesn't know that Hillary voted for the War in Iraq. Obama was against the War from the start. Did you know that? Also, every poll shows him beating McCain, while Hillary loses to him. I'm a Democrat and I'm voting March 4 in Ohio for Barack Obama.

Although the photo was taken in Kenya, the garb is that of a SOMALIAN nomad.
The area of Kenya (the birthplace of Obama's father) that the photo was taken in an area that in Northeast Kenya that is populated by Somalians.

The Debate should be about policy and not celebrity endorsements. Ellen and Oprah have the power of bringing greater name recognition to the candidate. For someone as unknown as Barack was the endorsement of a celebrity allows him to be recognised. Hillary was a president's wife for 8 years, the whole world knows who she is and I'm not sure what Ellen could actually do for her. The important thing is understanding what each person brings to the table, if you base it on any other criteria you're misguided.
Obama is a bunch of catch phrases and inexperience!!! These are the primaries, and when the really election comes I failed to see that a mueslim black man will become president??? Sad but true!!
