Elton John was livid that Madonna decided to throw a last minute Oscar party, sources reveal exclusively to PerezHilton.com.
With Vanity Fair canceling their annual soiree, usually the must attend soiree, Elton's bash was poised to be THE party of the Academy Awards this year.
And then Madonna had to go and muck everything up!
John's party drew a crowd of B and C-lister, like J.C. Chasez, Lionel Richie, Simon Cowell, Larry King and Sean Penn, who obviously wasn't at Madge's soiree.
Madonna's big bash, by comparison, was a star studded A-list affair. Seen: Tom Cruise & Katie Holmes, Cameron Diaz, Demi & Ashton, Drew Barrymore, Owen Wilson and Penelope Cruz - just to name a few.
Plus, M's party was thrown together in a matter of days.
"Elton DESPISES Madonna and this has made things way worse," a source tells us.

So being the pissy queen he is it must have been "Go to my party and if you can't then go home". He was way out of line in the first place for calling her a miserable cow for being unable to attend his pre-wedding bash. I was shocked at that as it seemed so uncalled for. I don't blame her for wanting to party separately, but it probably has nothing to do with Elton, anyhow. If it did, he would have it coming.
