Naomi Campbell is said to be dating a Brazilian businessman. The supermodel has spent a lot of time recently in the South American country.
The supermodel underwent surgery Monday for what turned out to be an ovarian cyst.
During a consultation prior to her surgery, Naomi's doctor found the presence of a cyst and decided to perform surgery to remove the nodule. The doctors believe that the cyst could get inflamed rapidly if it was not removed.
Naomi is happy and conscious, according to friends.
She could be released from the hospital as soon as three days from now.

I get ovarian cysts ALL the time, like 10 times a year at least. YOU DO NOT have surgery to get rid of them, they give you painkillers and you wait for them to pop, they are fluid filled sacks that are extremly painful.

I've been hospitalized for ovarian cysts before, but guess what? They don't give you surgery to remove them — And I have great insurance! They tell you to take birth control and they'll go away naturally.

Ovarian cysts are not removed via surgery. I had a huge one and they just let them rupture. Your body does all the healing. I bet it was some kind of plastic surgery she had done.
Guess what?! EVERY month you get a cyst on your ovaries! it's called ovulation!!!! Why does everyone think ovarian cysts are some disease! wtf? EVERYONE has cysts on their ovaries. occasionally they stick around past ovulation and cause some pain but it rarely constitutes surgery.

The one I had removed was the size of a baby's head. I seriously thought I was just getting fat! It was stuck on one of my felopian tubes and they had to remove that as well.

BFD! Thisi a routine proceedure that is done all the time…laproscopically(sp?). Most cysts grow and shrink on their own. Sometimes one ruptures and its very painful and needs immediate surgical attention, so if this was "ripe" she got good advice. I'm sure they found it with ultra-sound, and if she had ultra-sound I'm sure she had pain that brought her in …good luck, but you're quite the drama queen!

Cysts are NOT caused by HPV. They occur naturally during ovulation and sometimes grow out of proportion causing INTENSE pain. I was hospitalized for mine for more than 7 hours while they gave me morphine and did a CT scan. Cysts that contort or grow too large ARE removed via surgery: If the cyst doesn’t go away after several menstrual periods, has gotten larger, looks unusual on the ultrasound, causes pain, or you’re post-menopausal, the doctor may want to remove it. There are two main surgical procedures, Laparoscopy and Laparotomy. Naomi might not be the nicest person, but this is certainly plausible and some of you really need to get educated.
