The Fall Out Boy bassist was in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday with Invisible Children, the not-for-profit organization aimed at raising awareness of the plight of children displaced by the bloody war in the Central African nation of Uganda.

Wentz met with members of congress, including Sen. Russell Feingold (above), to try and bring more attention to the issue.

My sister traveled with them this summer to Uganda and her husband just got back from D.C. really? if you actually cared about the situation in northern uganda, i don't think that you should be bashing on Invisible Children. They've done more than any other NGO to bring attention to the plight of the people. Yes, the Rough Cut documentary is out of date and the 3 filmmakers who made it would be the first to admit that. Which is why they have 2 new documentarys coming out within the next year and a half or so.

but think about how much they have done to raise money for secondary schools in northern uganda, as well as create economically sustainable projects for some of the internally displaced.

either way, both resolve uganda and IC do so much for the people of northern Uganda and that is what is so important.

so major props to both of the organizations and everyone who went to lobby days! it was so great and i think it was really successful!

Re: anonymous – I participated in Uganda Lobby Day last year which Invisible Children played an immense role in. If you go to IC's website at this very moment there is information about Uganda Lobby Day, which IC was a large part of again this year. The documentary was originally filmed in 2003, but has been updated each year. Kidnappings are STILL occuring throughout Eastern Africa and continue to happen througout Uganda, I've been there I know. Not to mention, the lobbying is now to provide support to fund schools in Africa to educate children who have suffered enormous trauma and give them a chance in life. Please don't espouse hatred toward people trying to bring attention to serious issues in the world. Unless you are willing to do something yourself, you have no right to complain. Any media attention toward social justice issues ought to be well received. You cannot do unless you know and you cannot know unless you hear, you ought to applaud anyone willing to take time to help their fellow man. Please do some self reflection and realize that perpetuating silence and hatred is not positive or powerful.

And it's not just the children, there are close to 1 million that have been displaced from their homes because of this war.
