With just a few days left in February for sweeps, most networks are finding it hard to keep their ratings and viewership up.
Surprisingly, though, Fox is expected to win in the ratings with a towering 6.9 average among key adults in the age 18-49 demographic. This is a huge jump at 41% higher than last year. Fox is averaging an estimated 17.8 million viewers.
What's been helping Fox this year? Well, having the most watched Super Bowl in 8 years didn't hurt, with 97.5 million viewers. American Idol is also helping by averaging 27.6 million viewers.

ABC is in second place and down 21%.

NBC is in third place for sweeps, followed by CBS and the CW network.

I don't watch TV anymore, especially MTV, back in the day that was Music Television. Now it's Reality Television. MTV should change their name to RTV.
this years Super Bowl was actually the most watched Super Bowl of all time.
TV is so dissappointing to me now. I have nothing left to live for. Nothing to get me through the day. No reason to wake up in the morning.
Maybe I'm going overboard. But maybe not.
I watch Friends reruns whenever I can, 7pm! Thats pretty much it, though. Oh, and occasionally, the Ellen Degeneres show.

I don't have TV at all–not cable, not PBS, not nothing. I do, however, have a big-ass TV…for movies. So, the internet is my only source for entertainment (Netflix, Perez) and news (NYT). Woo-hoo!

Big Brother, Jericho, ANTM, Idol. It's alright. The strike killed a lot of good shows like Ugly Betty, Gossip Girl, Grey's, Desperate Housewives, etc.. in my opinion anyway.
prezzer, I have been online, watching cable on demand, watching BBC America - I do NOT miss the pampered, overpaid stars of American TV. Especially that dumb asshole, Hayden Panniterre, or Fat Derriere, or whatever the fuck her name is - she was on a local show, the Junkies, on WJFK in DC and she was as vapid and stupid as Anna Nicole Smith in her prime. Most bogus stats ever. How can there be "sweeps" when shows are either not on or they are reruns? I've seen no new Boston Legal or Smallville in two weeks. One new show for the month does not a sweep make.
