Coldplay is hard at work on their new album, to be released (hopefully) some time this year.
They've hired longtime U2 collaborator Brian Eno to produce and the new material is said to be "something different."

Awesome! they are great, an actual real band! I am so happy to hear about their continued growt. Gwyneth Paltrow is one blessed woman to have that guy, plus every other great thing she has! It's good, though! I am happy about it.

Brian Eno worked with Daivd Bowie on the album Heros and was in a band called Roxy Music with Brian Ferry that is some old school collaberation.

I want to see Eno back with Roxy Music their early albums were some crazy shit and influenced the likes of John Lennon, David Bowie, Duran Duran, Gary Numan and countless others why is he working with a top 40 easy listening band?

You probably do not read these, but you have been a guilty pleasure of mine for longer than I'd like to admit. I appreciate you trying to expose people to new music (even if it means becoming Warner Brothers lackey soon) by expecting to know of their preexisting influences. This is why I'm so shocked that Brian Eno's name isn't even in bold! He is one of the seminal living artists of our time, and though his work has suffered through collaborations with U2, Paul Simon and now Coldplay (ugh), he at least deserves some independent recognition apart from being constantly aligned with artist who cheapened his original message (hey– rings true for you too, so I guess I can't expect that much more from you).

I must correct you on something Perez, Brian Eno is WAY more famous for starting Roxy Music in the 1970s with Bryan Ferry than working with U2. The guy is equally way more famous for his own musical creations. I think the point is that he's been around as long as the earth was cooling and deserves more universal greatness props than some work with U2.

Brian Eno is a musical genius. If you don't know who he is check out Enoweb. He is the father of Electronica (too young to be called grandfather). If anyone can help a band make a good album it's Eno. Check out the first two Roxy Music albums and his solo stuff, "Here Come the Warm Jets" and "Taking Tiger Mountain by Strategy."

always have been, always will be radiohead lite. and i'd never put a penny in the pocket of anyone as precious about themselves as the martin/paltrows. if you want to listen to a great UK band, check out james, who also worked with eno.

Coldplay is a U2 want to be band. They're good, but biggest band in theworld…that's a huge stretch. As far as Brian Eno…super talent, so I'm sure his work ethics and talent will be a huge plus for Coldplay's next album. The bad news for Chris Martin is that Brian Eno is in thes tudio with U2 as I type. My money is on U2.
I am getting so excited for their 4th album… this one will be there best - can not expect anything less!
