She's Better Than Marie Osmond!

From sitcom star to fatty spokeswhore and now? TV Talk show host!

Valerie Bertinelli, the former One Day at a Time star, has just signed on to a deal with CBS to develop a new syndicated talk show. The show is expected to be on air as early as 2009-2010.

We'd watch.

She's admitted to being a slut and a druggie in the past. She's got a lot to talk about!

Bertinelli is also banking on the success of her recent autobiography, Losing It: And Gaining My Life Back One Pound at a Time. Lots of fat talk. It usually sells. We should buy it!

Aside from the book, she is also starring in an upcoming Lifetime movie, True Confessions of a Hollywood Starlet, and there's an A&E Biography on her in the works.

Valerie must be celebrating, she's slowly getting her career moving again.

Kirstie Alley must be pissed! Jenny Craig didn't help get her career back.

      OK - First - Marie Osmond's talk show will kill Valeries. Fan or not - Marie is America's sweetheart and Valerie is a wannabe - lol. I think Marie's fans - from her doll collectors to her Dancing/Stars fans to the kids that grew up with her gove her a way bigger fan base to sustain a talk show. Besides - The Donny & Marie talk show was not a bomb - it was nominated for a Daytime Emmy - but I read that production ceased due to insider issues or some crap like that. It had a good two year run. Best of luck to both of them (I work full time and will not be watching either…but if I TIVO'd either of them (which I won't…lol) - It would be Marie's. Laters

      From rock goddess to talk goddess. I saw her on Larry King, and she gives good chat. She was honest, insightful and was all about the issues being discussed rather than all about herself, and she pronunciates well and clearly. She navigated Van Halen in the eighties, lol so she might be able to navigate a talk show couch. Oprah managed it.

      I am a couple of years younger that her and I remember being a teenager in my horrible upbringing house and feeling just scared and sad in my own house (alcoholic step father, timid mother). My life is amazing now and I feel very good for Valerie that her life has done a 180 and is very good too. But watching all these One Day at a Time clips on TV lately has been really rough. It's a million years ago but shit, I hate seeing them for my own reasons! Go Val!

      Morning News Show Host maybe, but not a talk show. I think a talk show would fail with Val because
      people want either a comedian ( think Ellen or Rosie) Or someone able to do more serious topics ( think Phil Donahue, Oprah) She is too cute and perky for either of these roles. BUT FOX for example, has the absolute WORST AM morning news show. Val would kill it for them. Bring them ratings in the same way Katie Corek ( sp) did.
