Ellen Says "Bow Wow, Woof Woof"
Ellen DeGeneres is a comedian, actress, author, Emmy award-winning talk show host, and now the Oprah-wannabe mogul can add Entrepreneur to the list.
As you probably remember, after that whole Iggy controversy, Ellen decided to help start an organization to rebuild in-the-dumps animal shelters across America.
Now, she's showing her love for animals a bit more by creating her own DOG FOOD!
But, not just any dog food. Really good quality doggy chow that even humans can eat.
That's SO Showgirls!
The dog food is called Halo.
In a recent interview, Ellen spoke about her new venture and partnership with Halo (known for its natural pet foods) to create the food line.
"Ours is all human grade. It's all natural. And yes, you can eat it," says DeGeneres. "People love their animals so much so that they put little clothes on them and necklaces and booties and things like that. And if you love your animal, then you should feed them something that's not dangerous for them. There's a lot of poisonous stuff that they’re putting in a lot of that food, those by-products."
When asked if Ellen were to be a politician, what would be her pet policy, she responded, "My pet policy would be to love them and give them as much respect as you would give any living thing and treat them kindly. They’re innocent little souls that are filled with unconditional love. And we should give them the same."

Do an online search on dog food ingredients. Some of what they put in a dog food is whatever garbage is swept off the slaughterhouse floor, such as chicken beaks and chicken shit. Even euthanized shelter cats and dogs have ended up in dog food! They also use grains and other fillers that are labeled as not suitable for human consumption, meaning they are spoiled or rotten.
Why anyone would look to Ellen as the shining example of an animal's best friend is beyond me. She proved just the opposite with her public behavior and long history of adopting and deserting animals. Lead by example BITCH!
I love Ellen. She's a very kind and caring person. I am an animal lover, but I am not a vegetarian. You don't have to stop eating meat to love animals. I don't go out and kill the animals, I don't harm animals or anything like that. Eating meat is just natural to us. It's our own choice if we want to eat meat or not, but saying that anyone who eats meat and loves animals is a hypocrite is just dumb. I love animals, even snakes. I also love to eat meat. I don't want to see how the animals are slaughtered, I don't want to hear it, etc. I know that many die inhumanely and it's very sad. Nothing should have to suffer or die terrified and in great pain.

ellen didnt help with the making of the food. i work at an all natural pet food store and we've sold halo for over 7 years
i think this information may be wrong… im not sure though. cause i watched that show yesterday or the day before, and i think i heard her say she is now part owner, and that the halo brand was already made, but she justs owns part of the company now. i may be wrong, but thats what i think.

How is she helping them by making money on a product and pawning it off on her show? Whether or not the food is of quality (which I do not believe it is) doesn't really matter, in the end she is just trying to make $$ and you people are buying into it.
research your shit perez. she bought part of the company. she isn't making a new line. the line already exists. she is just endorsing it because of the animal lover that she is. she's part owner and just endorsing the line of pet food. and it's not JUST dog food, it's also cat food as well. plus, there are other things other than food, there are herbal supplements as well.

The whole company is built on a lie and Ellen bought into it and BTW, they do not use human ingredients or anything organic so Ellen should figure it out! This is just a money maker. Ellen wants to do something good for the animals or her pocketbook! Halo is terrible dog food!

She isin't really creating it…. it's an all natural food line for dogs and cats that has already been created, for a few years now actually …. She is just investing in it, becoming part owner and doing some fantastic advertising for it… YAY ELLEN
I couldn't agree with Ellen more. So many well-meaning pet owners are buying dog and cat food with by-products in them. By-products which is basically rancid meat along with even scarier stuff thrown in leads to a lot of health problems in pets. Pets who are fed a healthier diet (free of by-products) live longer and suffer a lot less health problems. God bless Ellen for recognizing that for a lot of us, pets are like beloved family members and deserve to be fed only the best!

Of course we should care what we feed our animals and our children. Of course we should all cringe at what is happening to our food supply and the poisoning of our environment. There are people in the world who want to educate all of us about how to feed our animals and ourselves so that we can live healthier disease-free lives. Halo and Ellen are not our teachers-trust me-they are not our teachers. Read Labels and think for yourself and for the animals we love. Unfortunately this company uses inferior ingredients. They are not organic or human grade. Ellen should have figured this out.
