When babies are newborn you don't want anyone who is sick to come around them. It's cold & flu season still & there's a nasty bug going around. I can perfectly understand why she would want hand sanitizer readily available. Most mothers have it on hand at ALL times! Also, it may sound crazy but I get the surgical mask too. Twins are usually born early. I'm not sure how far along she was put premature babies are more prone to illness like RSV which can be deadly.
Cut her some slack. She's a new mama & wants to make sure her kids are healthy.
PS, she MIGHT have hired so many body guards because people are crazy & she wants to make sure that no one tries to kidnap her kids. It's not something that "normal" parents would ever do….but in Hollywood I think it's acceptable & probably more common than we know of.

Sometimes when you make too many percautions like that with the babies they will aways be sick because they won't be exposed to certain bacteria at a young age that can help them build there ammune system. I was told that when my baby was born and I was psycho about the germs.

The hand sanitizers all over the house isn't that weird, it's actually quite common for parents to do this with newborns. I wouldn't want somebody's grubby paws on my kid.

Someone needs to tell her that she's causing the twins more harm than good by making everyone sanitize every square inch of flesh on them before handling the twins. They're not immunosupressed, they're babies. Germs are healthy for babies… they may get a little sick, but it's how they develop any kind of immunity towards foreign germs/microorganisms. Ms. Lopez should reconsider her completely aseptic philosophy on handling babies. Then again, I think every mother goes through that and realizes that kids are dirty and eventually, they, give up on the whole Purell lifestyle.

I have a friend who's mother who made sure everyone washed their hands and wore masks around her. Now in her 20s, she has a TERRIBLE immune system. WHY?? because everything that you are taught is that BABIES NEED THE REGULAR DAY TO DAY GERMS to build up their immune systems.
