Horrible situation but the parents on both sides are to blame..this isn't about gay and straight, it is about moral behavior and education of our children. Parents of LBGT kids need to communicate and parents of Straight kids both normal and homophobic need to communicate. These cases are totally preventable and total tragedy.

I wholeheartedly agree with comment #28 and 29. Ellen's clip made me cry. I have a brother who is gay and the hate and teasing he experienced growing up was awful. He is a wonderful, giving person. He's the type of person all people should aspire to be. It's time we stop the hate and remember the golden rule "do unto others as we would have them do unto us". Oh man what is wrong with people today? Aren't we smart enough to realize you don't judge a person on colour, sex, religion or orientation? Hey, some people don't like gays and gays have to be careful around some people. I've known gays to get severely beat up for making a pass at the wrong person, so this isn't that surprising. The message is be careful who you ask to be your valentine, it's sad but true but some people would rather kill a gay person rather than deal with the fact that they exist.

I read about this in the paper; it did not say why the killing occurred. That's a tragedy in itself — that the reason for the murder is so distasteful that it isn't even mentioned. GO ELLEN!
