Jeff Conaway, the guy who played Kenicke in the beloved movie musical Grease, reveals to Inside Edition that he kicked his drug habit by practicing Scientology.
The Celebrity Rehab patient says that John Travolta is the person responsible for introducing Conaway to Scientology.
Conaway proudly proclaims, "I've been doing Scientology…My doctor was like holy cow, he says whatever you've been doing keep doing it because it's really working."
Jeff isn't just practicing Scientology. He's really into it. The former druggie has some creepy person come to his home EVERY day!
He says, "John and I stayed friends but he couldn't watch me going down the tubes…He gave me a whole library of Scientology books and he's given me an auditor who comes almost every day."

I truly believe that Scientology is a cult….but having watched Jeff Conaway on Celebrity Rehab, if it works for him, then bless them all! The man was self destructive and destined to die. If Scientology keeps him alive and healthy, then it's great for him.

You could conceivably quit drugs with scientology since you would no longer have any money to buy drugs with once the scientology cult got its hooks into you. I seem to recall researching this topic several years ago and had read that for the average person to ascend to the higher tiers of the cult, they would spend in excess of $250,000. Its probably much higher now.
Jeff was rehabbed but the reality of his life made him leave just before the end of the program. His wife/livein is a drug user and Dr. Drew insisted that Jeff had to get rid of her if he was ever going to be drug free. Jeff is also suffering from severe chronic back pain from an injury and once he was sober he realized that he couldn't live with the pain and needed medication. Not wanting to be a hypocrite he left the program but he was basically drug free at that time and was going to seek professional help for the pain. I don't think Jeff has enough money to get anywhere in Scientology
