Poor Wino! The singer has an icky skin condition, her publicist has revealed!
Says her rep: "Amy has been diagnosed with impetigo which she's been told can be highly contagious. Because of that se's been put on antibiotics and may have to stay home alone for the next few days."
Impetigo is a bacterial skin infection. It causes red sores that can break open, ooze fluid, and develop a yellow-brown crust. These sores can occur anywhere on the body but most often appear around the mouth and nose.
According to many reports, Wino's back on the drugs. We have a feeling THAT might have something to do with her skin condition as well!

Ok I work with young children at a daycare and Impatigo goes around, no child has ever looked like that..the frist sign that you have it is visable sores, um where are her sores…Im calling bullshit on that excuse. not to mention the brusing around her face..something else happened

IMPETIGO HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH DRUGS! in fact its is particulary common in young people between 4-16. It occurs when a wound develops an infection then spreads rapidly to those who come in contact with the carrier. It can also occur if one squeezes spots. It is best treated with a steroid based cream such as hydrocortisone. NOTHING TO DO WITH DRUGS
A few cycles ago on America's Next Top Model, one of the girls, Michelle, had impetigo. Her face wasn't swollen to all hell though.

don't be surprised if Crackhouse comes down with AIDS, not that she would be HIV + but it's widely known that heavy drug use with poor diet destroys the immune system and thus allows infectious diseases to spread in people with compromised immune systems.
Also known is thta the toxic drubs given to supposed HIV+ patients also kill them yet it's put down they died of AIDS related diseases.

The very nature of childhood, which includes lots of physical contact and large-group activities, makes children the primary victims and carriers of impetigo. Malnutrition and poor hygiene can aggravate the condition.

Looks more like bruising from the obvious dental work she had done in those other chipmunk-cheek pics. Where's the impetigo? Sounds like an excuse—I worked with a meth addict who made up stories like that to explain her sores. I hope this isn't the case because this woman is such a talent and she's throwing it away by not really trying to kick her addictions. Sad!

that big,discolored, bumpy patch on her cheek is where the impitigo is; it looks like she tried to cover it with makeup. It's not really a big deal when i was about 15 i got it on my forehead (you can get it in a cut, scratch or graze like any other infection) i just took antibiotics for a week and it cleared right up, it doesn't scar or anything and is very common.
i think this was the point Natalie Cole was trying to make - that to Amy's addict mind getting all those grammys validates her behaviour and now makes her think it's okay to keep getting high… don't get me wrong she is very talented and absolutely deserved the awards but again in her drug-twisted mind she may be viewing it as validation for her behaviour… so sad cos she does have a great voice…
well, if she really has impetigo, it probably has something to do with her coming into contact with someone who has it and not being hygienic. as for the bruising on her cheek, maybe she had a tooth removed although i wouldn't be surprised if she got knocked around. we've seen that before.
When you are on crack you are very prone to skin infections for some reason.

That is sad and nasty. If she is supposed to be away from others because it is highly contagious, then why is she walking the streets? And I hope she throws out the make-up she is wearing after this whole thing clears up. Why would she wear make-up over the sores? It doesn't hide it.
I've had this infection before. it looks nothing like amy winehouse's face condition and it has absolutely nothing to do with drugs.
I had that same skin disease when I was about 7 years old. I don't see how this has anything to do with drugs! It's contagious as fuck.

Impetigo is common in kids and people with compromised immune systems. I wouldn't be surprised if Winehouse has HIV from doing heroin and crack.

i love her music, but i have no sympathy for her anymore. zero. she has access to better rehab and medical care than most of us will ever have in our lives and this is what she does with it…do more fuckin crack and fuck up her face. good job wisely using the things you have access to amy.

Since it's pretty obvious this horrid chick is a drug user and openly pubic about it.. too bad the "media"can't be honest about the horrible effects of this drug. Maybe the truth about her so-cold "impetigo" would help educate our youth before it's too late.

My sister had Impetigo on her face once as a young woman. It was a circular lesion, about 2 inches in diameter, and with a scab almost 1/4 of an inch thick. The yellowish brown crusty scab would periodically slough off and reform again. It lasted for several weeks. I was exceedingly disgusting and odious. Very obvious, and she hated to leave the house.
my little brother got that when he was 6 or so. Because he had an oral fixation and would just chew on things like pens and toys. It was so horrible :/
