Sad Day for Cheeseheads

abrettfavre.jpg

We bet Wisconsin is at a standstill….

After 17 years (!) in the NFL, legendary quarterback, Brett Favre, is retiring from the game.

According to Fox Sports, who broke the story Tuesday morning, Favre leaves the game as the all-time record holder in several categories including wins, passing yards, touchdowns and consecutive games started. A three-time MVP, the southern swashbuckler won fans over with his carefree style.

Brett Favre, his people and the Green Bay Packers have yet to confirm Fox's report.

We've always liked Mr. Favre. He'll always be Cameron Diaz's hot ex-boyfriend in There's Something About Mary to us!

Thankfully there's another Favre in the NFL to keep the family name alive!

Update: It's confirmed.

He's outta there!

    42

Vote 4 Obama, this is a HOLLYWOOD GOSSIP SITE. Go to CNN if you want real news, you douchebag.

Also Perez, this is a sad day for the entire NFL, not just Wisconsin. Brett Farve is a great human being and a football player who just loved to play the game, inspired others, and he will be missed. Hopefully he'll be signed to do some commentating, though!

And Voore I garauntee he doesn't have a fuckin profile on some bullshit site, mainly because he's been married for like 15 years and his wife is smokin hot.

Re: jobabe – You really suck…seriously, you should be ashamed to admit you're from Wisconsin. Thanks for all the memories, Brett…you were an inspiration to so many people, and your last season was amazing. A true class act, and an NFL legend.

Straight from Wisco, this is a sad sad day around here. The sun can't even shine… I shed a tear at 8:20 am when the news broke. We have lost one of if not the greatest thing WI ever had. He is and will be a legend forever… WE LOVE YOU BRETT!

  45. Trin says – reply to this
    45

Perez: You have no idea what a sad day it is here in Wisconsin to see our beloved Brett Favre leaving us….he has truly stood the test of time. He played the day after his father passed away and had the best game of his career. He has started every single game in his 17 year career. He has broken every single record that a quarterback could break - even all time interceptions - but - it's still a record…he has continued to play through out many family tragedies, including his wife's breast cancer which she ultimately beat and now speaks on the issue. He is our hero and our superman here in Wisconsin and for packer fans all over the United States. He will be greatly and genuinely missed. WE LOVE YOU BRETT!

Re: MARY DANATO – Shut up, you twat. Like you probably know anything about football anyway. Brett Favre has broken more records than just about any player in the NFL ever. Not to mention he's a nice, down to earth guy who has stood the test of time and gone through so much, including his wife's breast cancer. Not even from Wisconsin, but this guy will be missed.

Thanks for posting this, Perez…Brett Favre is a LEGEND. He has given so much to his fans over the years, and Lambeau Field will not be the same without him. Brett had a great last season, minus that final interception, and broke just about every record out there. I'm so sad about this, but I'm glad that Brett could go out on top. Thanks for everything.

THE BEST QB ever (and this is coming from a Minnesota Vikings season ticket holder) I've had the pleasure of seeing Brett play in the Metrodome many times as well as Green Bay. It is the end of an era and I can't believe how sad I feel I won't be seeing him play any longer. Although I did chant "Green Bay Sucks, Brett Favre Swallows" on game day, I always loved watching him play and liked the skill and guys he brought to the game of football.
