Patrick Swayze has pancreatic cancer, his publicist confirmed on Wednesday.
The average life expectancy of someone diagnosed with cancer of the pancreas is six to nine months, with only 4 percent of patients living more than five years.
And, according to the National Enquirer, who broke the sad news first, Patrick's cancer has already spread to other parts of his body - making his chances of survival even more slim.
Let us all sends our prayers, positive energy and thoughts to him. That he is not in pain. And that his family does not suffer too much either.
So incredibly, heartbreakingly sad.

Statement from Patrick Swayze’s Representatives:
" WEDNESDAY, MARCH 5TH: (Los Angeles): “Actor Patrick Swayze has been diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer and is currently undergoing treatment. Patrick’s physician Dr. George Fisher states, “Patrick has a very limited amount of disease and he appears to be responding well to treatment thus far. All of the reports stating the timeframe of his prognosis and his physical side effects are absolutely untrue. We are considerably more optimistic.” Patrick is continuing his normal schedule during this time, which includes working on upcoming projects. The outpouring of support and concern he has already received from the public is deeply appreciated by Patrick and his family.”

My father has pancreatic cancer too and has been going through treatments for over a yearm, but he also had surgery to remove the tumor, which upped his prognosis…Patrick Swayze is still young and vibrant and there is still a great chance that with the right treatment (which I am sure he is recieving) and otherwise his good health backing that he will have a great many years to celebrate with his family….my love and well wishes go out to him and his family!

"Dirty Dancing" and "Ghost". This news has really upset me. He's a great person and really good to his fans.
