I don't get your issue with that. They offer free Wi-Fi and to make sure people don't get porn they have a general filter. What's the issue?

  12. xdawnx says – reply to this

PerezHilton.com is blocked in every airport I've ever been in.

    15

I think that is awesome! You have to remember that any 10 year old can get on the internet and look up porn or any other unsuitable matter for someone of that age… yes cencorship sucks but young children don't need to be looking at things like that, If I can't access a website that is tagged as provocative then I am actually happy. It makes me sick the amount of porn and disgusting things on the internet these days and the fact that children of all ages have access to it. We need to figure something out, a way to block things on the internet that kids shouldn't be looking at without screaming CENSORSHIP all the time… relax Perez

I live in Denver and this blows….this city IS progressive….it's when you leave Denver and venture into the state more, there you find your Type R personalities. They don't represent the majority of us.

  18. Marianna says – reply to this

    18

I can understand if someone was using public computers at the airport, but if you're using your own computer, than you are entitled to surf whatever site you want. This is bullshit!

I don't see what the big deal is. It's just the Denver AIRPORT. You don't live there, and the Wi-Fi they offer is free. They can choose to do whatever they want with it.

  32. Christi says – reply to this

    32

They also block your site at the airport in Charlotte, NC. I'm a flight attendant and between flights have been very disappointed to not be able to get my perez-fix….

  33. joe blow says – reply to this

    33

If its their network, they can do whatever. Free doesn't mean unimpeded.

  34. LM says – reply to this

    34

I can't stand disguising fundamentalism under the guise of it being for a "family friendly" atmosphere. Jesus fucking christ! NO censorship, EVER! If you don't want your kids to see it, turn them away and don't let them see it. Assholes!

  42. puhleez says – reply to this

    42

Please…. that caption has got to go. Perez only wants to stop censorship when it doesn't involve something he is personally against. He's always begging people to make contacts and sign petitions to have something or somebody banned from saying or doing something Perez doesn't like….

  43. Tricia says – reply to this

    43

IF YOU DONT WANT CENSORSHIP! GET YOUR OWN FREAKING COMPUTER. SOME OF YOU IMMATURE PEOPLE NEED SOME GUIDANCE SINCE YOU DONT HAVE COMMON SENSE AND MAY LOOK AT PORN, ETC IN THIS PUBLIC PLACE. THEIR PLACE, THEY CALL THE SHOTS…WHEN ITS YOUR PLACE, YOU CAN CALL THE SHOTS…QUIT WHINING YOU SISSIES!

  44. TRINA says – reply to this

    44

IF IT IS SO BAD THEN MAYBE PEOPLE NEED TO SETTLE SOME OF THERE ADDICTIONS TO WEB PORN.I RATHER HAVE IT BLOCKED THEN A CHILD VIEWING IT,I CAN LIVE WITH GOING TO WEBSITES AND NOT GET POPUPS FOR EVERY PORN SITE OUT THERE ITS REALLY ANNOYING.

Considering that the runway layout at Denver International airport is a Nazi Swarstika I'M NOT JOKING!!! this should be NO surprise to many! Go to Google earth, or Yahoo maps .. Type in DEN or Denver Airport and zoom in and you'll see Nazi Germany In Denver.

Then PLEASE come back here and confirm it. Thanks

  48. myopiniononeverything says – reply to this

    48

well I am sure there is a protest group out there somewhere with funds readily available to waste time to protest this.. fortunatly most people have IPHONE's, and gagets that travel through airports, so they can plug into perez that way… but I can see parents not wanting to have their kids sit around there if there are some pervs checking out gross stuff on the net.. like that puppy you talked about being thrown over a bridge, that is so sad…

  49. Hmm says – reply to this

    49

Well, I don't agree with censorship, but what are they supposed to do when they start getting complaints from people who don't want to see vulgarity when they glance at someone eles' laptop screen? There are always going to be children and families in airports.

  50. Filthy says – reply to this

    50

Just use a proxy hub and go around the filter. Duh

  51. denverite says – reply to this

    51

Public computers, then no. Personal? Get a grip, DIA. I'm trying to remember which site recently was blocked … boing-boing, I think? And how is THAT awful?

  52. samantha says – reply to this

    52

I have to say that I tried to get on this site when I was at DIA and I was pissed that I couldn't.

  53. Mark says – reply to this

    53

Phoenix airport (PHX) does the same thing. You are blocked from a lot of internet content

  54. Babysitting says – reply to this

    54

This is not censorship… it's babysitting. And unfortunately, it seems necessary since many adults have lost the ability to consider the feelings of the people around them.

I am very much against censorship, but I also would not want to be waiting in a public airport with my children and notice that the person next to us is checking out Britney's vagina or Danny Bonaduce's shriveled balls on your web site. People don't have the common decency to police themselves these days. Don't get me wrong… I'm not against people checking out those pics in an appropriate setting (I check them out myself), but parents shouldn't have to worry about their children seeing that stuff in a public place. BTW… I'm also all for putting those magazines you mentioned where children cannot see them.

There are far more important things to worry about than whether or not someone can check out PerezHilton.com while they're at the airport for a few hours. It's not like they're stopping you from doing whatever you want to do in your own house, or once you reach your destination.

  55. I know says – reply to this

    55

I live in Colorado and it really does suck! I'm not really surprised they would come up with such a stupid policy.

  56. madmax says – reply to this

    56

This is also true for the Charlotte airport, I could not access perez!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it was blocked

  57. susan says – reply to this

    57

I KNOW!!! I hate airports that do this! I travel all the time for work and I NEED MY PEREZ! The Charlotte-Douglas airport censors the web as well. It does indeed SUCK!

  58. Honesty says – reply to this

    58

To be honest,I think censorship is good and as long as it does'nt go any further then just explicit material. We know people are always trying to be diffrent and venture outside the box for attention no problem but lets keep it a little cleaned up for people who don't need to be seeing some stuff.Alot of people can't control themselves and there actions(pedifiles)We don't want these people getting any good ideas

  59. Carrie says – reply to this

    59

Re: Jay – Jay you are a moron, there are 6 runways at DIA, so I don't see how that works. And to all you idiots that think that Denver is run by a bunch of conservative a-holes, why then are both the house and senate majority dems AND we have a democratic governor, not to mention that Denver has a democratic mayor. But that does blow about the censorship, there are a lot of morons out there who can't handle a little T & A.

  60. Not Really Censorship says – reply to this

    60

It's lame and sort of prudish, but since DIA is offering internet access as a FREE service, they can filter whatever they want. If people were paying for it, that would be another matter entirely.
As for children accidentally seeing offensive content on the web, it's up to their PARENTS to supervise them. If people, children and adults alike, insist on peering over shoulders to get a peek at strangers' computer screens, they might see something they find objectionable. If you don't want to see it, you don't HAVE to look…

  61. AJ says – reply to this

    61

Sorry, i don't see the issue. It's free. You can't look a gift horse in the mouth. If you want to look up dirty sites, pay for it…and do it in private please.

  62. emagaino says – reply to this

    62

If you find yourself that hard-up waiting around DIA, then try the Denver Public Library! You can get a temporary pass - if you don't have a library card - to look at porn in two hour blocks of time. And it's free!

  63. Heinz 57 says – reply to this

    63

Re: OBAMA BLOWS WEENIES – R U nuts? Obama doesn't hate whites. His own mother is lily white. Dumbass; but the question is, do you hate blacks? He's both, and will be the future. Maybe not this election, but perhaps in the years to come… All nationalities need to row together for the country to become truly great again.

  64. Jill in Denver says – reply to this

    64

I live in Denver and LOVE PEREZ, that shit sucks!!

  65. halifax says – reply to this

    65

You can't get perezhilton.com at the Halifax, Nova Scotia airport either. It also was flagged as "inappropriate".

  66. Alice says – reply to this

    66

Re: Stephany – There is already a great solution to the problem you mentioned. It's called SUPERVISING YOUR CHILDREN… all the time… no excuses. If you are too busy to supervise them, you should not have had them. Take the computers out of their bedrooms and put them wherever YOU usually spend your time… living room… kitchen… or wherever you hang out. Password protect the comptuer and only allow them access when you deem it is appropriate. It's really not that hard to protect them in your own home. Get to know your kids' friends' parents and it will also not be difficult to protect them when they're out of the home. You'll quickly learn which parents are idiots and which can be trusted with your children.

  67. boulder says – reply to this

    67

Big deal. Just use a proxy website like proxify.com or something. Unless they block that too.

  68. Does Anybody Know... says – reply to this

    68

What happens when someone tries to access a restricted site? Does the user get a message telling them the site has been blocked for content?

  69. jon says – reply to this

    69

i've used this free browser at the denver airport and it was soooo slow it was useless anyway. and btw, there are a lot of hotspots that block perezhilton.com. perhaps perez if you didn't have adverts of half naked men along the right nav it wouldn't be a problem?

  70. Ashley Bowen says – reply to this

    70

Fuck em. You know you've made it when you're ranked up ther with Vanity Fair and Sports Illustrated!! Congrats!!

  71. Sticky Cencorship says – reply to this

    71

Clever Kids and their friends see whatever content they like, pretty much whenever they like, regardless of how 'well' parents think they filter at home. They are soooo computer savvy, it would shock their parents socks off. If they can't see it at home, they simply go on a friend's computer. Better to teach and communicate discernment, and trust their judgement after a certain age. Censorship usually just fuels a greater appetite. European kids who are allowed wine with their meals have a much lower alcoholism rate. Adults are big enough to choose for themselves. Some sites should not even exist, though, IMHO, and I refer to the really depraved ones, and we all know what those are; the law breaking or law thumbing ones. If it's not legal in the general public, it's existence on the net could be questioned. If they don't exist, they can't be displayed.

  72. lauralin says – reply to this

    72

they're providing FREE wi-fi, they have EVERY right to block what they want — that's not censorship…. you can go anywhere you want and access what you want… just not on their dime.

  73. Poor men! says – reply to this

    73

Oh dear, no looking at porn before the flight. How will they ever survive? Please, who cares if these losers have to wait til they get home to whack off?

  74. Don Juan says – reply to this

    74

The Wi-Fi is provided for free. The Denver Airport therefore is entitled to block whatever it wishes. This would only be an issue if individuals were paying for access to the Wi-Fi, but they are not.

  75. JenCar says – reply to this

    75

Did anyone else googlemap the Denver airport and not see a swastika? I see lungs.

  76. carlos says – reply to this

    76

its a free service. if u dont like it dont use it and get your own damn service. too many people bitching about free stuff today.

  77. Pay OR SHUTUP says – reply to this

NOPE.. dedined!! i was so pissed! i couldn't even get onto my hotmail account.

  80. chrissy says – reply to this

    80

Perez, Panera Bread also censors you!

  81. shaneequa says – reply to this

    81

DIA is a shithole. Talking about running before they can walk - they should try being PEOPLE FRIENDLY before worrying about families and children.

Re: Heinz 57 – SO WHAT if his mother's white! WOMEN are below a GNAT in the MUSLIM WORLD!!!

  83. katie says – reply to this

    83

It's not censorship if you can get the info in other ways. They provide a free service so they can configure it however they want. No one says you can't look; you just can't look on the Denver airports dime. It's democracy..good & bad.

  84. Jo says – reply to this

    84

I am from Colorado and this does not stop at the airport. That is exactly why I'm FROM Colorado and not LIVING in Colorado.

  85. ...... says – reply to this

Re: Marianna – So the 5 yr old walking by can see the porn this weirdo is looking at in public? No thanks.

  86. NickkyNL says – reply to this

    86

What a load of bs. But to be honest, as a Dutch girl I don't understand why it is so bad to see a part of someones body anyway. Janet's NippleGate was a big joke over here.
Imho I'd rather have my 13 year old son seeing a naked boob or ass, then for him to see explicit details of a murderscene or bodies being ripped apart.
And to my knowledge this is what the American youth sees every day in the news.
I agree that pron is not for kids. But please, don't be so frantic about nudity. Seeing uncovered bodyparts is the least of all the problems in the world.

  90. eh says – reply to this

    90

at least DIA has free wifi! at a lot of other airports you have to pay a daily fee…even if you only use it for 5 minutes.

  91. you says – reply to this

    91

If you weren't censored you wouldn't care. Shut up you leftist loon.

  92. jb says – reply to this

    92

You sooooooooooo need to get a life and quit your insane comments. If you would learn to love yourself and everyone else maybe you would see the light!! Its FREE wi fi ….. so they can do what they want!!! Better than paying T-Mobile !! GET A LIFE!!

  93. sasha says – reply to this

    93

while I enjoy the website I don't let my 9yr old daughter read it, and children these days are very computer literate. I understand that adults should moniter their children, but I am not sure that I disagree with the airport, perhaps Perez should start a magazine so you can take your Perez fix with you on a flight, and still allow children to browse on computers in the airport.

  94. b says – reply to this

    94

I think this is terrible, if your going to offer free wifi and people are on their own computers who are you to say what they can and can't look at. People need to take responsibility for themselves and other people should not try to decide what is ok for anyone else. on public computers- block the hell out of em– on my own computer- better back the fuck off. you know the people who actually want to look at porn already has some on their computer and will watch it whether they can get it on the internet or not.
please stop trying to control our lives
I at least am responsible for myself thank you

  95. jessica says – reply to this

    95

charlotte, nc's airport blocks perez too! lame!

  96. diasucksanyway says – reply to this

    96

I live in Denver too, and this shit is the least of DIA's problems. For such a busy airport it sure is run-down, most of the attendants are rude (even by typical airport standards). As for the city itself, a progressive economy does not a good city make. The weather sucks and the night life sucks harder, and the traffic is TERRIBLE for such a small city. Go to Vail or Aspen instead.

  97. luvsdenver says – reply to this

    97

It is FREE wifi, they can do whatever they want. You can still connect with your cell connection and get to wherever you want on your own dime.

  98. Sara says – reply to this

    98

the only reason you care perez, is that you are blocked. i live in denver, and this is pretty rare occurrence (censorship I mean), most people who live in the city are liberal/anti-censorship. so, i don't think its the end of the world if an AIRPORT wants to block a gossip blog. or vanity fair. like others have said, at least its free.

  99. Playboy and Air Travel says – reply to this

    99

This reminds me of that story where a man was asked to put away his Playboy Magazine on a flight because another passenger objected. Ideally, a balance should be achieved between people exposing strangers to questionable media in public, and those same strangers minding their own damn business.
Being from a small town where many magazines are unavailable, one of the highlights of flying for me is stocking up on the latest magazines, Playboy included, at the news stands. I'll read it on the actual flight, but not in the terminal, and skip past the pages with nudes to avoid offending anyone. It's really just a matter of common sense and courtesy.

  100. justin says – reply to this

    100

OMG I was at Panera Bread Company the other day doing home work and the same thing happened! I needed a break, and thought i would relax with some perez gossip. then i got some dumb message saying that perezhilton.com is blocked there. STOOPID!
