Nashville Star (June 9) - American Idol for wannabe country stars, hosted by Hannah Montana's dad, Billy Ray Cyrus.
Celebrity Circus (June 11) - smells like Circus of the Stars from the 80's with a Dancing With the Stars twist! Celebs train with experts and are judged by circus pros. More recycling! But we'll probably watch!
America's Got Talent (June 24) - school talent show meets American Idol!
The Baby Borrowers (June 25) - birth control TV! Five teenage couples are taken on a rollercoaster ride of adult responsibility and are forced to experience parenting firsthand.
Six reality shows kicking off on the Peacock in the span of just over a month.

I cannot wait for the Baby Borrowers….makes me wonder what kind of parents would actually give thier kid up to teenagers to look after? Shouldn't they be bonding themselves with thier babies?

Can't stand reality tv. The networks promote it cause it's way cheaper than actually hiring writers, actors, and producing quality programming. The people they get to appear on those shows are typically self-absorbed morons who will do absolutely anything for their fifteen minutes. Why anyone would want to hang with those people IRL, let alone watch them on tv is beyond me.
I will cop to watching Project Runway on Bravo, The Deadliest Catch (Alaskan crab fisherman), and Everest: Beyond the Limit on Discovery, but those shows are more like documentaries than the usual mindless reality crap.

I am sick of the reality tv programs. What happened to shows and actors/actresses and good old comedy, drama, anything but reality stuff about people and situations we could care less about. What is going on!! Unless the actors or getting to expensive. Maybe this is why so much reality tv. It is cheaper for NBC. MTV is suppose to be "MUSIC TELEVISION" but all they have is stupid (supposedly reality) programs for stupid people. What does the word music mean to these producers. They would have alot more viewers if they would stick to the original idea of music videos.

maybe, depends what is on the discovery channels. Not going to be watching reruns on any networks that made only 6 episodes for the season. Besides, these reality shows need no thinking. Come to think of it, half of the network series don't need any thinking.
Reality T.V. is an absolute disgrace, ruining the potential for real artistic developments to take place and be made available to the world. All reality T.V. is is a structure used over and over again for the benefit of capitalists. Hardly any money needs to go into production because though the content of all these shows may be different, the form remains the same. No real writers, film aficionados or actors. It's all just vacuus crap for the money hungry. No, I will not be watching any of these along with any of the others out there. What's most unfortunate however, is that not everyone can afford the quality channels like HBO or Shotime and only have this kind of budget T.V. available to them. So yet again in a weird way, the poor are exploited and controlled. The worst offenders though, are the one's who get the quality channels and still watch reality T.V. because they claim it to be 'easy' and 'fun' to watch. Video doesn't have to be such crap people! Really just demonstates the negative effects and realities of our tech world.

It's not the only reason why reality T.V. continues to be produced, but this idea of "what they want" nothing but a refecltion of a vicious cycle of ratings. "What they want" is what the ratings tell us, but that is no surpirse since everything offered is reality T.V. Also, "what they want" is a bit of a misused term because really it's not about giving viewers what they would like to see, but to just get viewers to watch anything that will get them money quickly and efficiently.

Network ratings have been falling for several years now. People would rather watch cable or dvds, play on their computers, or even, God forbid, read a book than watch the mind-numbing nonsense the networks have to offer. The only things I watch on network tv these days are 30 Rock and The Office. When Celebrity Apprentice comes on, I'm outta there.

I sat next to one of the semi-finalists of Last Comic Standing on a flight back from Miami last month. He didn't make the final cut of 12 ,or was it 15, but he was really nice to me so if he doesn't make it in comedy he can always be some sort of caregiver coz I was a mess!
