Patrick Swayze is determined to live life, despite his grim pancreatic cancer diagnosis.

The actor is involved with a new pilot for the A&E network.

If the show is picked up, his publicist says, Patrick still wants to be involved.

Good for him!

All this Swayze-ness has really gotten us thinking….

THIS is a good video for all to watch!

Thak you for posting the Randy Pausch lecture, its an amazing piece and there is actually a website by Randy, he is still doing considerably well, considering his diagnosis as well. :) Best of luck to both men. My thoughts are with them…

I really wish that Nip/Tuck would have him on as Sean's brother - they look sooo much alike! I don't think Patrick is "down" with that type of show, however. It's kinda "nasty" for him.

I truly wish him & his family the best during his fight & recovery.

I am so saddened by this, when I was a little girl Dirty Dancing was my movie… I was so in love with it and seen it about two thousand times, I wish him all the healing in the world and hope he beats this disease and proves all the odds wrong!!! He will be kept in my prayers and hopefully everyone does the same in one way or another.

    24. BLAHBLAH says – reply to this

      24

Perez you are such a fucking idiot. His "grim" diagnosis… other more reliable, unbiased sites state that his cancer was caught early. Grim makes it sound terminal, you are just as fucked up as The National Enquirer who reported he only had 5 weeks. Get off your lazy ass and lose some fucking weight.

      25

      Good for you, Patrick Swayze.

Let this be a reminder to EVERYONE:

      LIFE IS SHORT

    26. The Waiting says – reply to this

      26

Well unfortunately he has cancer of the pancreas, which is the most lethal form of cancers. Even if it's caught early, pancreatic cancer has the highest rate of death of all the cancers

    29. Mary K says – reply to this

      29

This is starting to make me kinda mad! Stop making it sound like he only has a very short time left to live! Did you not read his doctors statment?????? He is responding very well to treatments and he DOESN"T only have 5 weeks left to live. Yes the type of cancer he has does have a very low chance of recovery but not if it is caught in its very early stages. When I read your posts on him you make it sound like he is already dead! Untill the doctor or Patrick come forward and say "yes I only have so many weeks to live" I will belive he is doing well and treatments are helping. He (and his family for that matter) doesn't need to hear everyone talking about how he is going to die! He needs postive words and thoughts right now!

    44. Jenna says – reply to this

      44

People aren't mourning him but everyone should be educated on Pancreatic Cancer before you say "Oh he'll be fine!" My grandfather was diagnosed four years ago and died within two months. My mother was also diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer in October. They say her's was caught as early as it possibly could be, and she is going through treatment. However, because this cancer is so dangerous she is still constantly sick and it is very unlikely that she will live more than five years. It's great to try to be positive and I'm sure he and his family are doing just that, but the "Stop being sad he'll be fine" stuff shouldn't be said unless you have done any research on Pancreatic Cancer

PANCAN.org is an amazing website and an amazing resource for people with pancreatic cancer. 85% of all money they raise go directly to finding a cure for this cancer that is almost always terminal. So go check it out please!!

Randy Pausch's lecture changed my life.

Ive moved over to the Uk, away from home. Im missing it like mad - at a low point I watched the 'last lecture', and I bawled my eyes out for most of it - esp when he gives his wife the cake, and all that. (But I am an emotionl person anyawys).

But watching his lecture really made me decide on a few things - if Im not in a happy place when my rent contract is up, Im moving home, starting postgrad, and getting my life on track. Im gonna find a job I love and Im going to do my hardest to make a change on other people, just like Randy did to those who he works with, and educated.

My thoughts go out to Randy, and his family. Also to Patrick and his family - cancer is awful, and I hope their journeys are pleasant.

But that video is the most inspirational thing I have ever watched. If you have an hour, there isnt anything I would reccomend doing more.

Funny that, my dad has wanted me to watch this lecture ever since he saw it first. It all started after I watched the phenomenal film Wit, starring Emma Thompson. It's about her struggle with cancer, and is the most surreal and amazing thing I have ever seen. So my dad talked my into watching Randy Pausch's lecture at Carnegie Mellon. I never thought about it until you reminded me, Perez, so thanks for giving me an excuse to watch it!!
