We don't follow the country scene that much, but…
Ingenue Taylor Swift is all of 18 years old and she's doing quite well for herself. She's on the cover of the new Blender magazine!
That doesn't often happen for a country artist.
Taylor writes her own music and her song Teardrops on My Guitar is gaining traction on mainstream radio.
Plus, she wants to take Perez out on a date. For realz!
Taylor's ideal Senior Prom date?: "Perez Hilton!" Swift tells Blender. "Your prom date is supposed to be fun and hilarious, and I think I'd have more fun with Perez than with anyone else."

Taylor is a horrible singer and a poor man's Carrie Underwood. She can't hold a candle to carrie- but she thinks she is the best thing since sliced bread. I unfortunately saw her live- not intentionally-I was there to see the headliner- and she was just HORRID! She has no range, power, or pitch. She is totally flat and weak— simon cowell would have destroyed her on american idol. Plus she is arrogant-and thinks she is better then Carrie Underwood- which is such a farce! Carrie should be on the cover-not this untalented wench.

God- please spare us! She is horrible and so arrogant! Simon Cowell would have laughed her off the stage- she is pitchy, weak, flat, has no range or power or depth in her voice. The thought of her singing a real song, like one by martina mcbride or Carrie Underwood-would send dogs howling into the night. She couldn't sing a real song that requires notes, pitch, range and power– if her life depended on it. Her CMA performance was beyond awful. I cannot believe she won horizon award when little big town, rodney atkins, and jason aldean sing circles around her. She is trying to be the new Carrie Underwood- but why would we need a poor man's subsitute, when we have the real thing? Go Carrie and Martina! Bring back real vocalists- and send this bubble gum country flake back to high school.
