Every body who keeps talking about smoking and how Patrick smoked 3 packs a day, SHUT UP! We all know smoking can make you sick, but acting like someone deserves to die because they smoked is so damn rude. I hate this blame the victim mentality. Anyone can get cancer. You are not safe simply because you don't smoke. People are so scared of cancer they will do anything they can to differentiate themselves from the one who has the disease. Cancer is an equal oppurtunity killer. I just pray that Patrick Swayze can overcome this, and have some peace. Stop blaming him for getting sick.

I just saw him in a hysterical British murder comedy with Rowen Atkinson. (Quiet MURDERS?) He played a sleezy/cheesy american golf pro and was so good at the role. Jeeze he almost stole the movie and he was soooooo hot. The thong underwear scene had us kicking on the floor. so bad yet so good. How Kristin Scott Thomas made it through that movie I'll never know. The man deserves a to survivie and have a big comeback.

This pic is from the mid-1970's; Patrick was a modern ballet dancer then and was part of a modern dance company in NYC. He did some modeling too to help pay the bills. This pic of him when he was probably not yet 25 was published in a then-underground gay publication. If you look closely, you can see him wearing eyeliner. That isn't so much, considering the makeup that dancers wear on stage, but this was an ad. It got enough attention to frighten Patrick and drive him very deep into the closet. Also, he was very afraid of how his father would react to the idea of a gay son, considering that the Swayzes are from Houston, Texas, and being queer was considered an embarrassment. Even tho Patrick's mom ran a dance studio, not even Patrick could allow himself to be thought of as gay, to the extent that he played football for his high school and severely injured his knee. This injury later led to further injury and weakening of the knee and is what caused him to give up ballet as a career. He also married a girl he had known from his mom's dance studio, and is still married to her. But after all these years of marriage, they have had NO children. Hmmmmmm.
