OK… I understood a while ago that Jewel was going country. But, I expected her to also find that piece of her that has been covered in recording studio gauze for years. While this can be classified as country, it is no more country than Carrie Underwood. It is ultimately pop music. When she said she was going country, I was expecting something a little more organic from her.

Props to Perez for having something nice to say finally about someone.
I agree with some of you that this song/ first video in particular is a little cheesy but it's not horrible. However if you take the time to listen to her albums all the way through, she always delivers some original and beautiful tracks. "Perfectly Clear' is my favorite out of the three song samples Perez linked for us. Check them out.
Stop judging so much people!!! Don't base a whole album based on one track. She is talented without a doubt. As far as the teeth, people will judge her for fixing her teeth as well. People always have to find something wrong. She is beautiful and the imperfections in her teethe actually make her look unique and beautiful. I commend her for being proud of herself and not being superficial like some people on Perez Hilton.com I highly doubt she would be modeling for cosmetic commercials if her teeth were as aweful as some of you idiots think they are. I met Jewel three years ago. I use to be a huge fan of her. Let me tell you, she is such a nasty bitch it will make you never want to listen to her again. Seriously though, that was a Japanese geisha, an East Indian woman wearing a sari, a seventeenth century French aristocrat (a la Marie Antoinette), and a Victorian woman (I'd guess American). I think she was trying to put some historical spin to it while highlighting how women's history and experiences are multicultural. We're all women, we're all in it together. That kind of thing. Or something like that. Anyway, good job!

Her folksy/yodel stuff was good.. but this might as well be Carrie Underwood or some other overproduced generic blond chick doing COUNTRY POP.

Her writing is unoriginal, bland, and contrite. I saw her in concert once and she forgot all the words to her own songs. This video was so cheezy I felt sick watching it.
