Janet Jackson was taken to the hospital on Monday.
The pop diva went to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles “late last night with a shortness of breath,” Us Weekly is reporting.
Jackson's rep, on the other hand, counters that "She’s just battling this flu like everyone else. Janet is fine."
We hope she really is fine!
It take a serious flu to get someone hospitalized.

Actually, it doesn't take a serious flu to get you hospitalized. She could just have asthma. Flu triggers asthma attacks that can be unresponsive to medication.

She probably got hospitalized due to dehydration DUE to the Flu(rather than the Flu itself).That happened to my son twice; once when he was 5, and then again when he was 15. Too much vomiting and/or diarrhea is the cause; your body loses it's electrolytes.A few hours on IV fluid, an anti-nausea shot, and that was it! The elderly, infants, and immune-suppressed people(who have AIDS or are on Chemo,for example) are at the most risk to actually *dying* from dehydration and from the Flu itself.

Celebrating someone else's illness is really low and cold, even for the trifling biyatches who constantly post negativity on this site. Here's hoping that neither you nor anyone in your family ever gets seriously ill, b/c you know what they say about karma … The flu is a SERIOUS illness that kills thousands of people in 3rd world countries each year, and sends thousands more people in developed countries like the USA to the hospital each year. But I guess some folks here are too ignorant or too busy hating to know that. It's not hard to get mowed down by the flu when you work as hard as Janet does on her music, promoting her new album, etc. I wish her the speediest recovery possible.
