Instead of distancing themselves from her vitriol, Republicans in the state of Oklahoma are applauding congresswoman Sally Kern for saying such small-minded and hateful things like….gays are worse than terrorists.
Really!
Kern told reporters that her fellow Republicans in Oklahoma gave her a standing ovation on Monday.
And, she has vowed not to apologize for her hateful words.
Insane!

i'm an oklahoman, and unfortunately that's the typical mindset in this region of the US. There are little gay friendly regions here and there, but overall a lot of hatred is encountered. We could use a lot more activism here; groups with national support.

As an Oklahoman, I apologize. Her words were hurtful and wrong. I have lived here for twenty years, and I am ashamed of the way she has represented my state and me as a citizen. She does not represent me or the majority of Oklahomans, and I am truly sorry for her words.
