NY is in trouble. The black blind guy is said to be really nice and Wall Street is cheering. Supposedly Spritzer was an asshole but he was excellent at fighting big business. He made a TON of enemies. The black guy has made statements on record that he likes to get people to come together. He doesn't like to make enemies and his style is more conciliatory. This is great if you live in Idaho. But NY politics calls for a fighter. NY are gritty and that's the way they like their politicians. Tough, manipulating and ruthless. The black guy is going to use Candy Land tactics and find out real quick that nice, let's get everybody together bullshit doesn't work in NY. It takes a criminal to beat a criminal and that's why Spritzer was soo good. He beat down Wall Street and stuck up for the little guy. The black guy is just too nice. NY is doomed.

While what Governor Spitzer did was wrong, he is paying the ultimate price for it. He has done wonderful things for NY and the entire country by taking on Wall Street crooks. This is coming from a Republican here, so don't even begin to cry foul! Governor Spitzer, his family, and the citizens of New York will need time to heal from this betrayal but those of you sitting in judgement need to shut up and let us get to it. Your two cents are worth about 1/16th of a penny so please do us a favor and zip it! When you speak out such as you have you are guilty of the kind of hypocrisy that Spitzer displayed. What is even more amazing to me is that there isn't a better system in place for prostitutes and johns to get together that the law can't touch. For instance- if a john called a company and bought a feminist "watercolor" and arranged to have the female artist "sign" the painting and deliver it to him… Then have the Ho bring the watercolor with her (hell, you could even have her take 5 minutes and paint it to keep things on the up and up)- arrange to meet the "collector" at some hotel, sign the 5K artwork and then celebrate by having "free" sex with the collector (in the heat of the moment). The worst part about it would be that the HO-House would have to mark up the artwork to adjust for the taxes that would be paid… But I'm sure the government would love it. Free money and they can stop wasting their time chasing sexually frustrated men.

New Yorker: I live NYC and am also a Democrat. However I have always thought Spitzer was a sleazebag. He conducted Wall Street witchhunts solely to further his career. He accused senior level management of corruption based on high salaries that were approved by compensation commitees in their corporate boards. They committed no crumes other than being grossly overpaid. If that a crime go after every major league baseball player as well.
