Michael Bay is ruining yet another film.
The big budget, special effects-crazed director/producer is remaking the classic scary movie, Rosemary's Baby. You know…the devil made her preggers movie!
Bay's company is also remaking A Nightmare On Elm Street and previously worked on the Texas Chainsaw Massacre update.
He needs to retire!!!!

I'm not sure how anyone could remake it. It's a complete classic. It's not even on the same level as the other films he's remade, and is wanting to remake. The only way it could even compete with the original is if the cast is excellent and they really try not to make the story any different than the original if he tries to make the version his own, it'll be ruined forsure. Why taint something classic? I watched it the other day, and loved it. It's not something that needs rework.

I personally liked the Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake and the other theater-goers seemed to as well. (The sequel/prequel sucked though.) Afterwards I watched the original on DVD and was surprised at how cheesy bad it was. The young kids in the movie were so annoying that I was rooting for Leatherface! Ha! I think when people watch these so-called classic movies in their youths it seems better than it actually is because at the time they're considered "shocking" and pushing the envelope. I've always heard that "The Exorcist" movie is amazingly scary but I watched it for the first time when they rereleased in theaters in 2001 and thought, "What's the big deal here? This is not scary at all." People are recalling how they felt when they watched it in the 70s.

michael bay's direction is outstanding! transformers, did anyone pay attention? he did almost everything in front of the camera and did minimal by a computer, that is art in itself. anyone who results to computers for everything just seems lazy to me. it you pay attention to every frame of that movie, he and his crew did an outstanding job.

If he must remake Rosemary's Baby then he should make sure to keep everyone for the Son of Rosemary. Ira Levin's follow up to RB, which was one hell of a creepy read !

Movies should only be remade when the first one sucked or when it was ok but not great. Rosemary's Baby was a fantastic film the first time around…it should be left alone.

It reminds of when Psycho was remade. Everybody ALREADY knows the ending! Some movies are such classics that a remake is pointless and ends up tarnishing the reputation of the original. It's sort of like an insult to everyone involved in the production of an original, innovative and superior film.
Rosemary's Baby is the rarest of the rare when it comes to truly creepy, scary movies…a quality flick with great performances, script, art direction, cinematography, etc. Whoever thought this was a good idea ought to be ashamed of themselves!
