Pregnancy doesn't make you stupid—why SHOULDN'T she fly if she was safely piloting before pregnancy? Any risk there might be to pregnancy is in the last month, where changes in air pressure might precipitate labor. I doubt it is an issue at this point in her pregnancy, especially since she won't be flying at extreme altitudes.

Safer than driving, and small planes are safer than commercial jets. If the engine fails on a small plane, it can drift for quite some time while you find a supermarket parking lot or empty street to land it in - with a commercial jet, when the engines go off, it starts dropping, and they need a mile or more of runway to land.

Why do people think that a woman is rendered disabled when she is pregant? I've had three healthy pregancies. My activities were not limited. At certain times you may choose to not lift something too heavy or not go sky diving, but, other than a few strenuous activities, there are no limitations (as long as you have a healthy pregnancy). Why on earth should she not pilot a plane?????? She's flying the plane, not carrying it! Get a grip!

And yes, pregnant women can do just about everything non pregnant women do, but to deny that there's a change in their physiology is silly _more prone to balance problems, fainting disorders (sometimes, which she's already experienced in THIS pregnancy), etc…you don't have to be a hermit…just be sensible…and don't expose your child to undo danger…I've said it before and I'll say it again…surrounding oneself with the model of a family to make one feel part of it is not parenting…that's asking the children you bring into the world (or adopt) to provide for your feelings of well being, when it should be the other way around.
