The National Enquirer has the first photo of Patrick Swayze since news broke that he has the extremely fatal pancreatic cancer….
And he's fucking smoking!!!!!!!!!!
The photo, taken this Monday, shows a gaunt-looking Swayze at a small airport in northern California.
And HE'S SMOKING!!!!!!! While he's still getting treatment. This boggles our mind!
He is poisoning his body as he is trying to get better.
Maybe he's just resigned himself to the sad fact that no matter what he does, he will likely die in a few months????

It has been reported that Patrick had a disgusting THREE PACK A DAY cigarette habit.
NO ONE should be smoking that much!

Keep in mind though…if he was to quit smoking completely right now, he'd probably shock his system and make himself even sicker. I'm sure that on the advice of his doctors he has cut back, but I'm sure he hasn't quit altogether yet. Cut him some slack.

My mom had breast cancer, had an entire breast and then some removed, and still didn't quit smoking. She smokes between 3 and 4 packs a day. Smoking turns people into slaves. Lord knows she's going to go through chemo again someday soon. And yet that does not deterr her. Or Patrick for that matter.

I would take this as a sign that he's giving up and it is a death sentence. If there was even a glimmer of hope, most people would grab that with all they had. If he has a death sentence, why give it up, he's gonna die soon anyways. That picture is enough to make this part time smoker quit for good.

BTW: The chemo he is putting in his body is more poison than the cigs anyway. Believe me, I had to take 6 months of that junk as a "precautionary" that they got all the cancer. I was so sick I couldn't eat, sleep, my hair fell behind me. It was a nightmare. I literally wanted to blow my brains out. Props to anyone who goes thru that, it's horrible and if he wants to smoke cigs or whatever, let the man alone.

Smoking is addictive. Like heroin, like alcohol, like any other drug. In times of stress, people turn to or resume their addiction. Cut him some slack. Do you really think giving up his 3 pack a day habit now is going to make a whole lot of difference to his recovery?
Obviously, no one close to you has ever had a terminal illness. Swayze is in the palliative stage of his disease, which means he doesn't really have to care what anyone thinks of him. If this works for him, so be it. I assume he's paying for his own medical treatment? Then it's nobody's business.
I quit smoking 12 years ago, right after my 59-year-old mother died of lung cancer. She quit and 3 months later she was dead. Quitting didn't do anything for her besides add an extra layer of misery and pain to her dying days.

I am not a fan of smoking AT ALL but sometimes when you're sick quitting it too dangerous, your organs that have become accustomed to all of those toxins can go into a greater shock. When my dad was diagnosed with cancer (Hodgkin's) and he quit it was such a shock to his lungs that they went into distress and were infected and that is what ended up killing him..

Ok, we all know smoking is gross.. and those of us who smoke DO know that. My Mom passed away a few years ago - from cancer.. but it wasn't the smoking that got her - it was the radiation treatment. And I know I felt for her when I saw her smoking, but there were a lot of days when she couldn't enjoy anything… so to have a few smokes and feel alive was great to see.. while it lasted. One you know your fatality you don't 'resign' to dying.. you just come to terms with it - and a few more enjoyable sigarettes won't hurt… and chemo IS killing yourself.. rat poison anyone? Don't be so quick to point fingers at people.
