When Actors Get Out Of Control

There's a bit of divalicious trouble surrounding the Marvel Studios' "new" Incredible Hulk movie.

The studio promised leading man Edward Norton significant creative input….so much so that they allowed him to be on the re-write team to tune up the movie script.

Big mistake!

Well, looks like Norton and the studio aren't seeing eye to eye on the current "final" cut of the movie.

Sources report that starting last night and continuing at least throughout today, the actor will be holed up with Marvel Studios execs to reach an amicable resolution.

Some fear that if the studio is unable to settle the current feud Norton will not take part in any of the promotions for the film. Very unprofesh.

Movies NEED their leading actors to push their films hard before opening weekend!

Norton is reportedly known for being a bit 'prickly' (i.e. hard to work with?). Why didn't the studio take that into consideration?

It's costing about $150 million to make this new Hulk movie. Hope they work it out!

Well, when you are as talented as Edward Norton I think you have the right to be prickley…the only film I liked his character in was Kingdom of Heaven all his other movies he's a jerk usually…o well he's hot, so whatever

Ok its EDWARD NORTON..I mean fight club, primal fear , american history X and Kingdom of heaven(too name a few) he pretty much steals the show in Kingdom of Heaven n he's a minor character, like the movie wouldnt be worth watching if it wasn't for him, I mean you can't even see his face in Kingdom of heaven and he conveys emotion in an amazing way!…he's like god…so he can do whatever he wants lol..he's earned it …. seriously

Re: jessi – Its true ..if you can steal a film from the main actor, get all the rave reveiws for an un-credited role and you can't even see your face in the film ..theres no action sequences with you or hot love scenes ..yet you get the most praise and your chracter dies halfway through the film ….i think you can truly be called a great actor lol … I mean I know people who hate edward norton but loved him in kingdom of heaven …so ..I mean seriously….this guy can do what he wants lol he's edward norton for gods sake…there lucky to have him

i cant even believe that edward norton would ever agree to do some stupid, cliche', uninspired rip off comic book movie. they are lucky to even have him, so i totally agree that he should have some creative control.

This guy is one of the most underrated actors of all time. What's he going to be diva about - he's not even THAT famous, but he sure is talented, and most of his movies he starred in have some Edward Norton intervention in the script, so let him be.

Edward Norton has always struck me as being exceptionally full of himself. I remember watching the director's commentary during Fight Club and nearly turning it off because Ed was speaking in such a "holier than thou" manner. Then, watching The Illusionist, I found that while his acting fine, he seemed to be oozing that "I AM THE BEST THING YOU HAVE EVER SEEN" vibe while on screen. Kenneth Branagh is like that too, especially in Hamlet.

my brother actually worked on that movie while it was filming in Toronto, and because of Norton's diva ways, they went WAY over schedule (by months!) and WAY over budget. no matter how good of an actor you might be (and I actually enjoy norton!), you shouldn't let your ego affect everything else. get over yourself and just get on with it! he became a joke on set with all of the production crew for god's sake. some people need to get over themselves…

In his defense, he is truly one of very few, brilliant and talented actors left in Hollywood and he was promised input power and understandably does not want to attach himself to a piece of shit. He's a perfectionist and his work speaks for itself. Props to him for not wanting to just take a paycheck and make another steaming pile of crap film that nobody wants to see.

I say good for him. Diva or not, the guy is a perfectionist and actually cares about the quality of his films (which can't be said of much of Hollywood leading men). I'm sure he thought the end result was crap and Ed is not willing to settle for that. Kudos to Norton. I know I had enough with mediocre blockbusters

      i would have to disagree..

it maybe because he wants the script to be good and there are things he believes would work better that he is pushing for…

and if they let him have creative input then he has a right to work it out i think..

and they have to try and reach an agreement

being hard to work with is not necessarily a bad thing.

its not like in the lindsay lohan way… which im not even going to go into here.

I'll tell you why its ok for Edward Norton to be a "bit prickly"….he makes GOOD MOVIES. So as an actor of his caliber who makes good movies, its not a big deal to be prickly. In the end, he makes the movie a winner.

Aww, I love Edward Norton! He's one of my favorite celebs…he's so darn smart, and considerably cute. I see how he wants creative license….who wants to be associated with some crappy, comercialized film? Actors don't know the true outcome of the film till it's wrapped, and he just wants to keep his acting integrity, I think. (Come on, who doesn't love Fight Club and The Italian Job?!) Be easier on him! :)

who gives a shit about ""Edward"" Norton. What a washed up has been. He always thought he was a little too cool and a little too educated. He's just another self-important Hollywood head case.

GOOD! edward norton is the shit, and he probably knows whats best for the movie

just because hes not some puppet and wants a say in what the end result will be

      get over it….fuckers

      125

Edward Norton is the among the fewer talented actors in Hollywood. He cares about the quality of the movie rather than how much money it'll make at the box office. That's why actors like him choose scripts carefully even if he's prickly and so do I that's not a problem! He wants what's best for the The Incredible Hulk movie, that's why he's better than today's overrated actors, Depp, DiCaprio, Pitt etc. In fact, he was great in Primal Fear, American History X, Fight Club, The Illusionist and much more.
