He has an amazing presence and musical style and is going to come into his own. He does lose the gayness when he sings. He will become more masculine with age and maturity.

It was a HUGE mistake to let Danny go. The show isn't the same without him and i HATE how rude Simon was to him, it was basically personal attacking and he could've at least told him what to do better instead of just humiliating the poor guy. He'll become a bigger star then whoever wins this show.

i think his attitude didn't match his talent and that's why he didn't last…i don't think it had anything to do with his sexual orientation…He just never delivered a great performance once he made it in the top 12 men…..with the bravado he performed with it was hard to take him seriously sometimes cause he wasn't backing it up with his voice…i think he might have better vocals than one or two the guys that made the top 12 but he just never nailed a performance good vocally
It's really sad when an incredible voice gets overshadowed by negative images of someone's personality. I am really impressed with the Latin flair on this years AI.. I wonder if Perez is hoping for a Spanish language song this year. And if someone like Archuleta wins, will there be a few bilingual ballads on his album?

It's sad to think but I do think the general voting population is more comfortable voting for "someone like them"- hetero, caucasion. LOL. Anyway I just viewed a video of Chekize performing at a church, and d@mn– he has an incredible voice– definately better than the "random" clips of Archuleta and Hernandez. Superstar was written by the great Leon Russell and performed by Rita Coolidge in the early seventies. Even though the Carpenters had a hit with it, I have a hard time thinking of it as their song. It was referred to in Juno that way, too, by a character who was into classic rock probably would have known about Leon Russell.

Tears! That was so great, I didn't want him to end it! I don't even watch Idol anymore. It sucks! I think he's better off without them, and all the pressure. Now he can reach the top at his own pace. He seems to be doing just fine with the backing of all the GLBT movers and shakers who love him. Idol is weak. They only care about who will make the most money, even if the music completely sucks (cuntry music star Underwood comes to mind). All Idol wants is record sales at Wal Mart. He's going to leave them in his dust!
