According to the French media modelizer and father of two illegitimate kiddies, Prince Albert of Monaco, will marry his girlfriend, former South African Olympic swimmer Charlene Wittstock, in September.
The prince is 50 years old and is now just settling down!
He also probs wants a legit heir to the throne.
His two kids out of wedlock can't step up because super Catholic Monaco is ruled by strict succession rules. No bastards on their throne!
The last time Monaco celebrated a wedding of its ruling prince was in 1956, when his father Rainier married Oscar-winning American actress Grace Kelly.

Prince Rainier's mother, Princess Charlotte, was the illegitimate daughter of Prince Louis II and a cabaret singer. She was made Hereditary Princess of Monaco, heiress to the throne, by adoption in 1919. In 1920 she married Count Pierre de Polignac by arrangement.
So in a way Prince Albert's father Prince Rainier was indeed a "bastard on the throne" although all the formalities were put in place to make him legitimate. Prince Rainier was born in 1923 after the adoption so there was no formal "error" and his father was indeed a Count!

Yes, his son is biracial, but his out-of-wedlock daughter is the oldest and would be the logical heir to the throne, but unfortunately the prince did not marry her mom so she is out of luck too. He had two illegitimate kids by two different women.
Succession rules were changed a while back in Monaco because it was feared that Albert would have no legitimate male heir. It used to be that, if that were to happen, Monaco would lose its independence and become a province of France. Now, should Albert die without legit male issue, the throne passes to his sister Caroline's eldest son.

The current law is fairly new, and would have prevented Albert's own Dad from taking the throne, as well as himself. Therefore he is denying his own children, albeit love children, from inheriting the thrown in the same way he arrived at it. Also, I'm South African, and the SA media asked her parents about the wedding and they said they don't know anything about it. So it might just be another rumour.
