Big Hearted

clooneyhot.jpg

Not On Our Watch, a charity co-founded by George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon and Don Cheadle, has donated $500,000 to the United Nations World Food Program.

The money will help the U.N.'s food aid agency to prevent hunger in the troubled Darfur region of Sudan.

In a statement, Clooney said, "Without immediate additional funding, humanitarian aid in the region will be crippled."

Gorge George has become a leading celebrity advocate for action against the genocide in the Sudan after filming a documentary about the crisis last year.

Keep it up!

people need to stop wasting their money sending it to africa. however if obama is our president (god forbid!) then you better believe africa will be his top priority. america who?

actually, a lot of people donate money ad they dont need to have a press conference about it. and if you look at what he does, its not just his attitude towards his personal donations, which are paltry compared to his annual income, but towards all the things he does, from his terrible oceans movies to his womanizing reputation. face it, a lot of people hate george clooney, and for some completely legitimate reasons.

Look, it's an important issue, yes it needs publicity, but as someone who's actually studied this stuff, I don't want to hear it from George F'in Clooney, I wanna hear it from the guy over there, who's got 3 PhDs and 20 years in the field, and if most people were half way intelligent they would too. And yes, $500k is chicken feed, and if they just gave their money to Bill Gates UNHCF or Red Cross or Medcins Sans Frontiere or someone else, instead of spenind probably that much again per year on admin and running fees for their vanity foundation, they could do a lot more good, here's voting every time Clooney does a Nestle commercial (look them up) he donates the money straight to Africa without having to have a fucking press conference about it every damn time.

$500,000 is nothing for those four guys put together. Think about it. Clooney, Pitt and Damon each probably make $20 million per movie. So, $60 million they get paid total for "Ocean's Twelve". So, $500,000 is less than 1% of that. So, it's like you or me giving a few hundred dollars to charity. Nice, but lot of average people give a much larger percent of their income to charity and get no recognition for it.

Why don't these rich lefties use some of their money to pay for healthcare premiums for people in this country. That way they could take the burden off of the taxpayer — especially since most of the people in this country on welfare are working the system. It's really easy to do. I work in healthcare and see it all the time. Hey, rich lefties. Pay for the cheaters in this country. Keep your money here at home.

Wow, $500,000? That's chump change to actors who make millions… There are alumni at my school (who are no one special) who donate millions upon millions of dollars, they could do the same.

I will donate money for two things : 1) Vasectomies for the men who keep impregnating women, and 2) Tubal Ligations for the women who continue to conceive and give birth (on their starvation diet). This will eliminate starving children.

Re: red – Why doesn't YOUR government stop spending 12 BILLION dollars a day on war & help THEIR own citizens? It's the government's job to take care of their people NOT private individuals. Again, Americans so quick to find fault those who actually are TRYING to help someone else. What a country of nasty, selfish pigs! As the 21st century goes on, you will find that your phony superior attitude will knock you down on your fat lazy asses and maybe you'll be able to find the heart that been lost in your own greedy pursuits!

Re: Diana – Why do the American allies repay WWI and
WW II debts at 80 and 50 years intertest rate before ever attempting to tell Americans how to spend American monies? Talk about advancing into the 21 st century and repay your debts and try not to be look at like just another third world debter nation incapable and unwilling to repay debts and loans that I agree should have never been made but where.

Do not worry the next generation of Americans will allow you all to die, Promoise.
FYI George Clooney has another movie coming out and that is why this latest "good deed" for the never ending starving dieing African story line is even been paid to be put on Perez hilton. That is why no one is impressed with the blantant promotional gift besides Clooney has a home in Italy where all the African immigrants are illegally enteraing Europe. George has a personal stake at preventing Europe's illegal immagrant population from entering Eurpoe seeking shelter, food, and water.
Your bias against Americans makes your ignorance to the obvious even more ridiculous and funny. Way to go professional debter must be really proud of that economy so much so repay your debts to the USA.
