Dragonette is probably one of the best kept secrets in US music. Their song "Get Lucky" is being used by every add agency on the European continent. (I think J.C. Penny just picked it up in the US) Let's not even talk about how you couldn't go to any fashion show in the last few months without hearing their cover of Calvin Harris' "The Girls" which Dragonette renamed "The Boys"
Also they were in the Top 30 charts in Canada for over 11 weeks. When they toured Spain and France early this year they sold out their shows in minutes and added two more nights in Paris just to keep up with demand. When they played a secret show in Paris at one of the hippest boites in town the police were called in to deal with the crowds on the street.
Let's face it you Yanks are way behind the curve on this.

I've seen both Eric Hutchinson and Meiko a few times and they are both great artists so if anyone is considering going but just doesn't recognize the names do not fear they will not let you down, cheers and have fun wish I could go!

This crowd is gonna be dead becaus ethere wil be no true music fans there, only people taking pictures for the media or people looking to have their picture taken.

Okay! I can't help myself. I have to continue to talk about how unwelcome the PerezHilton party made me feel. The best thing about it was leaving. Everyone kept walking around and asking each other who they were. Is this what Hollywood is like? When I was waiting in line Perez's people kept asking if we were part of the press. Press could get in to take pictures. Celebrities could get in of course too. All over town there were parties with free stuff. Even the Playboy party wasn't as selective as Perez's party and I felt welcome there. Next time don't have a made up RSVP list. (Every single person in line had RSVP'ed and no one was on the list.) What a waste of time. Keep Hollywood out of Austin!
