Adele played her first ever gig in America on Monday night to a sold out crowd at New York's Joe's Pub.

The Brit songstress performed an exquisite pared down cover of Bob Dylan's To Make You Feel My Love.

Holy fuck.. you mean they actually crammed the full 300 (maybe 400) guests in there? Wow. Our local talent in Canada does that daily, but it's nothing to boast about. Honestly, not like you had any credibility in the first place - but stop talking music, you have the WORST taste and I'm sick of seeing this crap on your page.

    Wierd or what? Adele fills a pub & he blogs it. Duffy packs out SXSW to rave reviews & doesn't get a mention. Adele has one decent song on her cd namely "Chasing Pavements" (which won't sell in the US). Maybe he likes her cos she's fat.

    Too bad she is the WORST Tipper ever. She came into the restaurant I work at sat there for 4 hours…ran up a $145 tab and tipped $0!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Spare me the bullshit excuse that she is not from america and doesn't know how to tip. homegirl didn't even leave 5%. She put a line through the gratuity line. I treated her with respect and like a VIP because we were told she was coming into the restaurant. Doesn't she know we are all struggling artist in NEw YORK CITY! Bitch I need to pay my rent.     and re VIVIAN : that's because over here in the UK we don't just expect to be given extra money for doing our job. seriosuly whenever i go to the US the streets are just lined with people expecting money for doing fuck all. you have to tip everyone whether you like it or not. the idea of a gratuity charge is that you give a tip based on the service, not just because the person got off their arse. that's what your wages are for. MAYBE YOU JUST GAVE HER SHIT SERVICE. in the UK we generally expect people to WORK FOR MONEY YOU UNGRATEFUL BITCH!!!!!!

    Well miss know-it-all, American waitresses make less than minimum wage because it's a given that we will get tipped. I worked as a waitress for $2.19 an hour and had t claim my tips for taxes. So, next time, learn your facts so you don't sound like a dunderhead.

    In the UK servers get paid a lot more and speaking for all the waiters in our restaurant we work hard for our money. so before you go and criticize somebody's work ethic, you need to know what you are talking about. most servers in the US get paid half of the minimum wage which is sometime $2 to $4 an hour. Living in New York, you won't be able to get very far with the hourly rate so we depend on our tips and therefore work hard for them.. If you are in a high end restaurant, you are expected to pay a gratuity of 18% to 20% because we are trained to give you that type of service. No fake smiles. Because it is our job. If you don't like our expectations than quit coming the fuck over here. I'm sick and tired of excuses from people oversees not understanding the whole "tipping" thing. It is not that complicated. It is on EVERY travel book. Have a little awareness about the people who are serving your food and realize that some are trying to feed families on those miserable wages. Plus your pound and or euro is worth more than that. tipping 20% isn't going to kill your damn bank.
