the reason i cant stand heather is because whenever she appears on the news, she forces us to accept at times our own human failure. she embodies greed, deceit (just see the judgment), and general nastiness– all values that most of us spend our lives trying to avoid. while she doesnt deserve to be treated "worse than a pedophile" as she once put it, she also does deserve most of the negative media treatment she receives because she is quite simply a bad person. sure, she has done charity work, but the judgment shows shes lied about how much she has done– she claimed she contributed 80-90% of her earnings…yet conveniently she lacks evidence of this. the court even found that there was no way mathematically based on her current bank account for her to have contributed so much money.

Paul actually told the media and everyone else several times he would like them to leave Heather alone and let them get on with the divorce in privacy. As it has been consistently proven, however, celebrities can not control the media when they smell a juicy story, it's not as if they have real power.
All the unpleasantness that has happened to Heather in the media is because of her own doing, she is clearly a gold digger and even her father says so. She has constantly insulted Paul and tried to destroy his reputation on TV and in the papers, while Paul has tried to maintain the dignity of the whole affair and kept quiet about what an insufferable bitch his wife is.
That is why the media attacks her, she has tried to use it to support herself in her quest for more money and it backfired on her spectacularly. Paul certainly isn't a saint, he's just a human and human's have flaws, but at least he didn't try to destroy Heather, when he easily could have.
