Yeah, the word is "Embarrassant" but contextually it would be weird. She would say something more like "J'ai été humilié," or I was humiliated by the experience… that is if she could speak French. I think your French reference in this case was more pertinent to the whole French aspect to the fashion world in an Oh la la kind of a way.
Were she a Quebecoise who had an accident, the proper exclamation for such a foible would have been "Tabernacle!" pronounced Tab-ar-nak. Though the word itself means the same thing in both French and English, culturally, the Quebecois take religious terms in vain as opposed to the French from France who tend to go more with "merde" which means shit, "putain" which means whore and "bordele" which means bordello. Tabernacle in Quebecois is the cultural equivalent to say "FUCK!"
