breaks my heart looking at the "in memoriam" section. Adopt from a shelter! There is no need to go to a breeder. There are too many dogs already. So sad that puppy mills still exist to this day.
This is definitely a cause I am willing to help out with. I just can't stand seeing bad things happen to innocent dogs!

I fostered five dogs last year who would be dead. MOST SHELTER PETS ARE AT SHELTERS NOT BECAUSE OF THEM BEING BAD, BUT BECAUSE OF PEOPLE WHO DUMP THEM FOR THESE REASONS:

Great cause! I adopted two dogs from a pet rescue shelter and I couldn't be happier. I wish I could adopt more.

Perez, you're amazing for putting this on here. If I ever get a dog it's TOTALLY gonna be from there. I'm gonna try to find as many people as I can to adopt those dogs. I almost cried, I can't believe how many dogs are gonna die soon. I want to adopt them ALL.
Perez this site made me cry! I adopted my dog from a shelter and unfortunatly there were no dogs near where I live on this site other wise i'd save them all! I encourage everyone to stop wasting money on pure bred pets and just save the life of an animal who just wants to be loved!

Perez maybe you should take a personal note of this. I have been involved with animal rescue for years and ashamed that your recent dog came from a breeder. Dont Shop, Adopt.
All of those babies in the memoriam section are in heaven now and are no longer lonely or scared. they are at peace.
Thanks Perez, and I completely agree with adopting dogs (my dog is a rescue and it wonderful:) but it would be more effective if you practiced what you preach. Is Teddy (who's adorable) from a shelter?
Although I love animals and am all for adopting shelter dogs this site was awful! Giving the date of their death and purposely posting comments to upset people? This organization does not seem to care about dogs as much as others rather upsetting people. Hopefully ALL the moeny goes where needed.
I actually heard about dogs in danger.com from Good Morning America. I visited the website and actually adopted a 1 year old white siberian husky. I have had her for about two months now and I love her to death! I found her in the knick of time too, when i visited the website she had just 1 day to live! I highly recommend that anyone looking for a dog OR puppy ADOPT rather than buy from a breeder. like the website says…. you can gain a buddy AND save a life and there is no better feeling than that! Thank you so much for posting this link. My boyfriend and I just recently adopted a lab/boxer mix from our local shelter and she is just the sweetest, most loving dog; we're so happy to have her in our lives. Although many people get caught up in getting a brand new purebred puppy, they forget how many dogs are in waiting in shelters while in desperate need of homes. I really appreciate that you are using your public platform to spread awareness. I would like to caution people against purchasing dogs- or anything, for that matter- from pet stores. it is pretty much guaranteed that any puppy you purchase at a store is coming from a puppy mill and will have an elevated chance of developing health problems and may not be purebred even if the store claims it to be so. Furthermore, purchasing pet supplies from these stores supports the puppy mill business. I urge everyone to think about all the dogs in desperate situations before going to a breeder to find his or her new best friend.

as much as you can piss me off, perez, a true dog lover cannot be a bad person….and i can tell by your silly videos of your puppy that you are in love
i volunteer at the local animal shelter, and everytime i leave, i cry a little, because i'm leaving behind so many wonderful animals, and they're stuck in those kennels all night. it's hard to go back because i love dogs SO much, and i just have to see them stuck in a cage, or adopted and then brought back cuz they're "a pain in the ass", or even worse, i come back to find out my favorite dog has been put to sleep.
if you can donate, do. if you can volunteer, do. if you can foster animals, do. and the best thing of all: if you can adopt them and give them a loving forever home, please, please please do.
I'm so glad you posted this one. It made me cry, but it got me to donate, so I hope that helps them if only a small bit.

i love animals, all of them. they don't steal from you, they don't borrow stuff and not return it, and they love you without asking for more than their dinner on time…I swear my cat knew when 5pm was, (her dinnertime) and I's get dirty looks from Missy if her food wasn't there…
Very sad to see all that have been lost. We've just adoped our second dobie from the Doberman Rescue in our state. Fantastic dogs! Needed just a minimum of training; can't imagine how anyone could have given them up. Backyard breeding and puppymills need to be outlawed, with exceptions made for those dogpark/getting loose oopses. Better yet, if you aren't going to breed them, make spay and neuter mandatory. Should do that for some people on welfare too, but that's a different issue. HA!

Re: Max – Some people really really like to help causes and donate to charities and stuff, so Perez is just giving us all opportunities to do so. He's not forcing us to. If you have a problem with what Perez wants to do on his OWN website, then why are you even coming here? Also, not everyone else in the world is having huge problems with their money…probably cause if we do, we don't waste all our time online.

Perez, I love your site and I do applaud your effort to bring attention to this cause. However, it is downright contrary to throw money at this and not actively pursue the ethical option, such as purchasing a specialty mix from a breeder. These animals need us to care AND speak for them, please do not pontificate to the masses if you don't intend to be an example for the best situation.

Thanks Perez for putting that post up! I just got a dog from a local shelter this past weekend. He's such a love. It was so sad seeing how many dogs (and cats) that were there, all of which were abandoned on the street or rescued from disgusting people who would fight them. My pets are rescued and I know they've got a much better life now than they had before. Adoption is the only way to go to if your looking for a pet!
We are in the process of adopting a rescued Yorkie right now. I look at him and try to figure out what his life was before me…either way, he is going to be such a happy little guy here with us.
